Don't need to cut it down. A green laser pointer purchased on ebay can destroy the camera's sensors with just a quick press of a button. If enough people did this these cameras would cost them more to maintain than they profit from them and eventually they would give up replacing them. Wear masks, change clothes, go on foot.
