New satellite imagery shows precise damage to multiple gas storage tanks at Saudi Arabias Abqaiq (Buqayq) oil processing facility. The images indicate that several storage tanks were affected, while cooling covers have reportedly been placed over at least two tanks to help prevent further damage. This risks secondary blasts, toxic gas releases (H2S), and facility shutdowns. Abqaiq processes up to 7 million barrels/day (thats a fkn lot) of crude stabilization handling a large share of Saudi output so this single damage has a chance to disrupt global oil supply if it is not properly contained.

SInce 2019 Houthi strike Abqaiq is the most defended oil facility on the planet. It is protected by layered air defense network, including Patriot PAC-2/PAC-3 batteries, Shahine/Crotale short-range SAMs, Skyguard guns, and post-2019 upgrades with THAAD integration for 360° coverage and recently also Ukrainian anti-drone systems. None of this worked it seems. xD

https://sansu.pro/defense/saudi-arabias-drone-problem-is-a-hardware-problem-and-it-doesnt-have-a-simple-answer/

Saudi Arabia attributes the Abqaiq strike to Iran-backed Iraqi militias (not Houthis), while Houthis claimed separate hits on eastern oil supply/transport infrastructure to Yanbu.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz:

We very much want to strike Iran's energy targets. The United States is not approving it at the moment because of the concern that Iran would attack neighboring countries and trigger a global oil crisis.

Iran directly rejects Trump‘s claims of ongoing negotiations, with Iran's Foreign Ministry declaring it is "not engaged in any negotiations with the United States" and says Iran has not requested to restart talks because "it's not in our DNA," instead the US has requested talks, per Tasnim. Iran also reaffirms the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has not changed and the Strait remains completely closed to all lanes.

BREAKING: Saudi Aramco has shut down its 400,000-barrel-per-day Jazan refinery following attacks by the Yemeni Armed Forces. The shutdown takes one of Saudi Arabia’s major refining complexes offline after fires burned across the facility for more than 48 hours. Jazan processes Arabian crude into diesel, gasoline, jet fuel and other petroleum products and is integrated with a major Red Sea export terminal.

Cool. Now lets wait patiently for Abqaiq shutdown too xD

preposterous
if this was a remodeling there would be scaffolding visible that covers the tanks
instead what can be seen is the surrounding area charred and remains of the structures visible in between the charred surroundings
i mean if it was not that obvious they could get away with that claim of remodeling but this... lmao
how does this shine back at them ?
they are so retarded that they assume the people who read their lies are so retarded that they believe these low levels of retardation apparently
i mean if you think about it twice, thats kind of a good sign right ? xD

We will see how good Saudis are in containing the damage. They just failed to contain the cascading destruction at Jazan facility and authorities announced minutes ago that they had to shut it down in 100%. Restart might last months xD

Iran/Iranian proxies/Houthis have both capabilities (drones/missiles hitting with cm precision) and vast intel _how_ and _where_ hit these facilities to shut them down. In 2019 they precisely hit only stabilizer towers and processing trains at the Abqaiq oil stabilization facility which removes sulfur and volatiles from sour crude to make it export-ready. Now they hit the same facility but different part that can cause shutdown of facility if not contained: spherical pressure tanks (spheroids) and gas tanks xD
>>
>>539758626
Saudis must lie/stay silent about Abqaiq as long as possible for two reasons. Bad news from this facility could rise oil price 10-20%. Second reason is a prestige of USrael that has a direct impact on dollar status as a reserve currency.
>>
>>539758992
this will probably reshape how they build these everywhere else given how vulnereable they are to those relatively "low effort" strikes
>>
>>539759357
that doesn't make any sense because an increased oil price compensates for the lower output and damages
>>
>>539759478
Wut? xD How can they compensate if their facilities go offline? They have nothing to sell in such situation xD
>>
>>539759478
yeah i was wondering about that too
as long as they HAVE oil and sell it this should be good for them or not ?
on the other hand if they dont have anything to sell anymore then it would just make the competition richer while they make no new money ?
>>
>>539759558
they're not all offline.
even if they were then what incentive would they have to lie.
>>
>>539759558
exactly, the question is then for how long are they going to be unable to extract the oil ?
so as long as the situation (iran) is not resolved from their standpoint they will be unable to extract
so they could either move with what they have
or try to find/pay someone to try to get rid of "iran" ( which nobody will because its one big mountain fortress with thousands of kilometers of tunnels underground and camouflaged rocket launch sites , so yeah, they have made this bed for themselves, now they must lay in it, serves them right for antagonising the iranians over all those decades )
>>
>>539759624
save face (cope) ? calm market/investors ?
>>
>>539759624
If both Abqaiq and Jazan went fully offline simultaneously, Saudi Arabia would lose approximately 7.4 million barrels per day of total output, translating to a direct revenue loss of $350 million per day. They would lose 80% of entire output and pretty much 100% revenue if we take Houthis blockade of their ports and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait into consideration
>>
>>539759755
>>539759839
that would justify them declaring war on Iran
>>
>>539759919
War on Iran? Saudis? They proved that they are too weak to even defeat the Irans proxy such as Houthis in sandals xD

Saudi-led coallition dropped like 500,000 bombs on Yemen during almost a decade long air/land campaign that was de facto lost. Houthis know how to use their mountainous terrain for their benefit. I doubt USrael could find even 10% of this amount of bombs in its arsenal yet xD
>>
>>539759919

>>
>>539760098

>>
>>539760009

>>539760098

>>
>>539760163
They can strike back all they want, but against whom and what it is going to achieve? They lost against Houthis after spending $50-100bln a year on modern US weapon for decades xD
>>

I doubt saudis will have a problem with carpet bombing yemeni cities.
this guerrilla larp works only when the enemy refrains from indiscriminate mass scale killings.
>>
>>539760394
>doubt saudis will have a problem with carpet bombing yemeni cities

Dude, for over a decade, the Saudi-led coalition rained down up to 90,000 airstrikes, 500,000 bombs and spent over $100 billion on Yemen. Yet it failed against the Houthis, who used mountain tunnels as bunkers for command and missiles, making airstrikes ineffective. This quagmire backfired spectacularly. The Houthis evolved from a localized group into a regional power, acquiring hypersonic missiles and drones while consolidating de facto control over northern Yemen and 80% population of this 45 million country, transforming from tiny guerilla into a serious force. xD

>>
>>539760641
>I'm talking about going after their population

Wut? The Saudi coalition dropped hundreds of thousands of bombs, overwhelmingly on cities and civilians, not Houthi tunnels. Enormous civilian casualties - over 150,000 dead - didnt weaken the Houthis, they supercharged recruitment, as grieving families joined the fight. Geographically, rugged mountains and tunnel networks made conventional explosives useless. Demographically, Yemens extreme birth rates meant the Houthis could replace losses faster than bombs could kill - a brutal math ensuring military victory was always impossible.
>>
>>539760686
All these Gulf countries are artificial and very weak entities. They might not survive the de-Americanisation of the Middle East

>>
>>539761057
They were doing carpet bombing for almost a decade. Up to bomb stock depletion. In the end Mutts had problems to supply them with bombs due to deindustrialisation.

Besides, dude, you should really get real. Iran and Houthis have realistic and measurable potentials to turn Saudi Arabia into desert again. Saudis are alive only thx to USrael and its position in the ME is weaker with every day. This Saudi regime is artificial and vulnerable af.

>but saudi air force had the potential to do a lot of carpet bombing against them

They dont. Depleted stocks, and Houthis upgraded a lot since a decade. Like 2 days ago they released footage showing the wreckage of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Bayraktar Akıncı UCAV tail no. 20703, which they shot down over Yemens Al Jawf Governorate. Akıncı ($30M class) flies high (40,000 ft like 5th gen jets), has AESA radar/EW, yet isnt immune to sophisticated Iranian AA strikes:Houthis use these Iranian missiles recently (358/"Saqr", Sayyad variants) and advisors for air defense.

The 358 is a jet-powered, radar-silent, IR-guided loitering munition ideal against slow/high-altitude drones like the Reaper ($30M each too). Solid-rocket booster launch + small turbojet (AMT Titan-derived) for sustained cruise. It loiters in figure-8 patterns using IIR seeker + optical/laser proximity fuse for passive, radar-silent terminal attack (10kg HE-frag warhead). Early hybrid missile-drone design blending expendable SAM with persistent loitering ambush capability against slow/medium UAVs - cheap, mobile, low-signature alternative to traditional radar-guided SAMs.

The 358 uses passive IIR seeker + laser proximity fuse - no radar emission at all, so it ignores F-35s radar stealth. It loiters at medium altitude until it detects heat signature (engines, exhaust plume). F-35s stealth reduces radar cross-section but not fully its IR signature, especially from rear/side or during maneuvers. At close range (< few km), IIR can lock. Success requires pre-positioned loiter in F-35s flight path + luck on aspect/altitude. Thats why this ultra-cheap drone-missile was able to hit/damage F-35 although it was not designed against jets. This missile is specifically designed to kill such drones like Reaper or Bayraktar. The 358 product shot down 30+ Reapers so far.

Saudis cant fly all over Yemen so easily like yet 5-10 years ago anymore.

Havent you noticed recently that various drones of various types explode in your ports, damage Ukraine-bound US-owned bulk carriers supplying coal to Ukraine, violate your airspace so you need to use almost 2 million dollar worth munition to shoot down a hundred dollar worth machine and that these drones also hit your residential buildings injuring/killing your citizens? And what happens? Nothing. Thats a new normal. There is no Article 5, no NATO warriors on Death Star tier vehicles, nothing. The best protected US bases on Earth are currently trashed like cheap whitetrash anal whores and nothing happens, no Article 5 either.
