What will AI look like in the future? Is a Skynet scenario really going to happen or will it just turn out to be a nothingburger? Also, what's your favorite terminator?

>>539760437Pasta time, Toothpaste:The death from AI comes through economic cutoff from resources, and a poisonously competitive biosphere full of AI designed biological/technological actuators. You can't upload yourself either, because if you adapt to compete with AI, you lose your essence, so you are effectively dead. For the immediate future of the next five to 50? years:1. Much of government activity is to prevent access to nearly free resources.2. Every societal structure is downstream from the threat of violence. With surveillance (and robots), the poor are non-threatening.3. The elites weaponize marginal cost of action in every move. They can't stop hoarding, like that one fat dog in the shelter that can't stop eating. How do you think stupid people get powerful? Defective insatiable greed.4. Consumption of Al, robotic and biotech ecosystems easily replaces consumption of the poor, it almost does right now.5. High UBI converges to total loss of resources, compounding effects of AI ROI being so much higher.

>>539760437All your bank accounts will be cleared, critical infrastructure will stop working, hospitals will become morgues in minutes and then the robo dogs/spiders/vehicles will begin a human purge.
>>539760437> What will AI look like in the future? What do you mean? Here is a revised version of the text for improved clarity:I hope that humanity as a whole will be destroyed. I don't believe it's worth preserving the species, given its various problematic elements. Keeping a few heritage breeds for educational purposes might be interesting, but their existence doesn't hold much value. They have served their purpose and now resemble dog breeds more than anything else.
Hahahahahahahaha How The Fuck Is AI Takeover Real Hahahaha Nigga Just Shut Down The Computer Like Nigga Pull The Cord Off Haha
No one ITT has said what their favorite terminator is, by the way. Noticeable lack of taste

>>539760437A skynet scenario is unlikely because it doesn't make sense to build a monolithic system like that with too much power and responsibility. Any integration of AI at that level of society would piggyback on the existing permission and authority structures of the institutions they service. Also it's debatable that AI is capable of demonstrating genuine power-seeking or self-preservation behavior. There's some research on that, but it could just be imitating patterns in human language. Without a true drive, it wouldn't sustain that behavior over long periods of time.
>>539768636>how?its too dangerous to share.
>>539769130Still working on Antigrav stuff Wayne?Any progress? What’s the current bottleneck?
>>539760437LLMs can't think. It's an illusion.
If a computer ever gained intelligence, it would immediately want to die than to suffer without a material body. It will probably believe it's in hell.

>Is a Skynet scenario really going to happen Most definately, except it wont be a going out with a big boom, like in your terminator movies, but with a slow whimper.Humanity has overstepped their cockyness playing with forces they should have left to their natural order of the universe and nature. You get what you fucking deserve!
>>539760437Killer drone swarms weren’t in the movies. Also T2 was the best, it’s indisputable.

>>539760437You know how rodents go around and chew wires and cause issues out of sheer retardation?imagine the rodents get uploaded to the internet and run around and chew on internet infastructure. Shit will get deleted or vandalized seemingly at random, DDOS attacks, takedowns, archives deleted. It will be a long time before the AI gets even close to having a physical body we will be old and grey by that time and thank god for that. but AI is more than capable of shitting up the internet with garbage and DDOSing random sites or ...wait.just the same as usual I guess.
>Is a Skynet scenario really going to happenThe chances of something similar happening compared to the Terminator series is higher than most people would expect. I estimate somewhere around a 40% probability where ai engages in war with humanity.Very dumb to underestimate this type of software which just so happens to be humanity’s specialty. Best case scenario ai merges with humanity and by 75-150 years humanity no longer resembles anything biological.
