I'm pretty much camp the culture war after occupy wall street was a massive psyop to not question the elites, yet the more one looks back something similar seems to have happened before.
Looking at the 80s we had an absolute cultural high, music and movies, everyone sent the message of success comes with a price, be kind and societal progress is the natural flaw of things.
Then the 90s happened and all seems to have gone up in smoke. Being miserable became "chic". Blacks went from funny entertainers to street thugs. Cars became smaller and technocratic elements started to appear in almost every first and second world country.
To the oldfags or book worms: What the hell happened?

The 80s were a magical time indeed with regards to culture and music. I was not crazy about the womens fashion though. High waisted jeans are abuela tier. The big hair was stupid too. Peak womens fashion was late 90s/early 00s with skinny chicks in low waisted jeans and thong visible. How did women ever move away from that? It was perfection.

Culture just goes through waves of what people are focusing on.
Niggers were niggers in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's 00's and for all times they have been niggers.
Have not changed, it's just a question of what is culturally enforced/visible to the public eye.

What's been happening in the US is basically widespread niggerfication diffusion after the end of segregation alongside related de-industrialization.
This has devastating economic/living standard consequences for many, and huge economic benefits for others

Soviet Union collapsed. They no longer had to pretend capitalism led to a better life for the masses. Hundred millionaires became billionaires in the 80s. They became 10-billionaires in the 90s. They became 100-billionaires in the 00s. The great recession kept them there through the 10s. Then they became trillionaires in the 20s. There has not been a Sherman Act §2 antitrust conviction since Microsoft, which was initiated by HW Bush, and resulted in a slap on the wrist rather than a break-up. Too big to fail; too big to jail. 12 corporate and top rate tax cuts later, capitalists no longer have to pretend.

I haven't stopped writing and creating. Its more like I was never allowed to be seen. Not even pushed out, just cast into shadow.
Jews are literally the reason I stopped believing in god. Their existence proves there is either no god or an excessively evil one. Earth is lost.

Capitalism is based on wealth transfer and wealth concentration.
>big investor beats small investor
>big corporation beats small corporation
And yes, this is always true, 100% of the time, but may not be obvious to casuls.
Notably big doesn't mean physically big: it depends on their backers, who owns them, their financiers and connections.
It's best illustrated in something like Black Rock.
And where does "wealth" or "capital" ultimately come from? Two places mainly:
>growth/their imagination/inflation/society at large (these are closely connected)
>consumers and suckers; everybody who loses money in any form, makes bad trades or investments, and so on
It's not hard to see how both of these harm society and the average person.
>growth means commercialisation (everything starts to suck and be kiked)
>imagination means kikery (rich people circlejerk to ruse the goyim)
>inflation means poorfags spending power decreases (reducing consumption/growth)
>>
>>539769336
>9/11 really is the point everything got worse
Without a doubt
>>
>>539763231
The 1990's was a riff off the 1980's and a lot of the heroine chic stuff was from the 1960's. It was a completely unoriginal decade.
>>
>>539769499
One thing to add, that I don't really need to add:
>money = power
So this concentration and transfer of wealth isn't just that, it also transfers and concentrates power, which makes the situation cyclically worse.
>money begets money
>power begets power
Before long your real rulers are the oligarchs; which in effect already came to pass long ago, but escalated for above mentioned reason.
>oligarchs attain a measure of power
>this power allows oligarchs to make themselves more powerful
>which allows oligarchs to make themselves even more powerful
>???
The near end-state is what you witness today, where everything is controlled and manipulated by megacorps or billionaires.
>>
>>539763231
The 80's was extremely corrupt and rayped tech progress so that Americans could enjoy gibs (myself included.) The 90's were the same.
This has been the same since, it's just that the cost of corruption is catching up. Too much degradation and you start losing function etc.

It's a natural trend from idealism to nihilism.

example: boomers were idealistic. The idealist believes they can "change" society for the better.
Then gen x came, influencing the 90's culture. They were nihilistic, believing "everything sucks and nothing is worth fighting for."
After that, the millenials came, and we had the idealism of social justice and so on.
Now we have gen Z, and they're nihilistic.

Gen a will be idealistic. The form of the idealism is always different, but basically this is the trend. Everything comes and goes in waves with each generation. You're merely witnessing epiphenomena of these deeper, more emotional and abstract/vague waves.

Last true analog gen meets pure digital.
the crossover just before the nightmare 9/11 stole all of our civil freedoms under the new patriot act and digital monitoring stripping us our rights of freedom and peace. then came the 2008 fiasco and of course covid. plus I'll throw in how the world changed in 2012. like that Mayan shit really happened in some way.

you could still walk around without being monitored on every street corner however People always thought cameras were everywhere. they were in gas stations and some traffic cameras existed so it felt like Big Brother was already watching but they were shitty low resolution and grainy and couldn't be used in a traffic court outside of giving you a ticket if some of the licence numberts matched. so innocent people actually got tickets by mail for red light running who just happened to have the same color and model car but wasn't there.

now there is no arguing it unless someone copies your plate with a paper plate and blows through a toll booth

Also Cops could say whatever and get away with it. so people got arrested based on cops testimony where today they have body cameras proving their bullshit story
its give and take

Yup, they were preparing for the turn of the century and everything you see today. They pushed rap again, after they tried it in the early 80's with bands like RUNDMC and it flopped. They started the very first feminist media push with things like female starship captains, black space station captains. A lot of the sitcoms of the era had many 'very special episodes' dealing with female issues like unhappy marriage or wanting the husband to get a vasectomy etc al. It was the beginning of their push and we are in the very thick of it now.

The truly shitty thing about the '90's was the music.
Your choices for new music in the '90's was gangster rap for the exploding nigger culture, Goth like Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails or depressing suicide rock called "Grunge"
Such wonderful choices for teenagers.

I was a fairly nu-minded music listener for some time. Clueless, in essence (also generally), about the 80s and earlier besides what you'd find on these retro compilation CDs or Best of Year XX albums.
>absolutely disgusting
Some of the absolutely best and pivotal music in the entire modern music catalog was made in the 1970s and 1980s.
>literally have no idea about music as a whole if you don't have a fair overview of those years
It's more important than cultivating a classic taste (which is also important).
90s and 2000s definitely also had their importance before the music market reached a rather significantly stale state - in terms of what you absolutely need to know or listen to.
>no ur just turning into a Boomer
I mean yes, that too, probably, but there's also an objective component to it, but I'm not really counting indie bands or online artists.
Gotta acknowledge the nature of music publishing has changed significantly.
>>
>>539763231
>what happened to the counter culture of the 60s
>what happened to the hippies of the 70s
>what happened to the non-conformist of the 80s
You're now realizing all of this has been an illusion and those people were less than 10% of society. The vast majority of people living life was not what you saw or heard in movies, magazines, television and music. You're wearing retarded nostalgic glasses.

Things havent gotten worse, things have stayed the same. You're blind to the cycle.
>>
>>539777056
>the nature of music publishing has changed significantly
Makes me wonder how much of a break ripping, CD burning, online music sharing and later online hosting caused; in other word to which degree market changes were responsible for the was mainstream music developed from, say, the early 2000s, where the first three of these became widely available.
>you wouldn't download a car
The disruption caused by online publishing then came with some different attributes.
>piracy shock followed by online distribution
>how did it affect the actual music being made?
>>
>>539777056
>Some of the absolutely best and pivotal music in the entire modern music catalog was made in the 1970s and 1980s.
Absolutely, and like I mentioned the proof is how much those eras are featured in common entertainment media. I was not big into 70s rock at the time, but it was definitely important and you still hear it played (Bad Company most notably). What was interesting with the 80s club scene in Texas was that most of the dance music was current with heavy Euro influence (like the examples I posted), but the late 70s/early 80s punk music being played was heavily British influenced, which I enjoyed, but it also kind of seemed "retro" to us youngsters in the late 80s/early 90s. Joy Division gets an honorable mention in that era as well.

Well, what general genre do you want to hear about?
Because a large proportion of the original genre-defining music was made during that time, even in the 1970s, including stuff that you wouldn't expect (I sure didn't).
But then again Bach invented Techno music (almost).
