Even within the top-50, you only have good odds of getting a "biglaw" job if you go to the top-14. Your odds drop off to maybe 5% once you get out of the top 30 and to practically zero unless you're the son of a managing partner once you get out of the top 50.2. non-biglaw jobs pay shit, assuming you can even find one of those anyway.3. lawyering is all about production. By "production" I mean writing shitlloads of paperwork. If you're "slow as fuck at writing" you aren't going to be able to produce. That means you're going to be fucked and lose your job after a few months.4. if you don't get a job, or if you get fired from one soon after starting, you'll end up as a solo practitioner. There are loads of those. They don't have fun or get exciting cases, they get paid shit for "indigent defense" (court-appointed attorney) or for doing granny's will or for handling divorces. "Family law" (divorces) is one of the most stressful jobs in all of law, because your client usually hates the opposing party and deliberately fucks things up constantly to cause as much pain to everyone around as is humanly possible. A friend of mine was a family law attorney, and had to deal with things like her client being murdered and then going to court as a witness for the prosecution (which, just to add to the strain, is of course unpaid, not that she was complaining about that).5. the actual fun law jobs don't exist. There is no "Ally McBeal" office where people throw frogs around or get to represent adorable dying kids. It's all just constant drudgery.6. ADHD isn't that big of a handicap for law because you're constantly having to switch what you're doing, but on the other hand you do have to be able to work consistently and continuously, not switch to watching YouTube or shitposting on 4chan.

Golden Gate (in San Fagcizco) says their students graduate with around $300,000 in debt. That's despite it being one of the worst law schools in the country.Schools lure students in with promises of scholarships, but what they don't tell you up front is that they stick all the scholarship students in a single section and then terminate the scholarships of, usually, the bottom half of that section, certainly after the first year, usually after each semester of the first year. So they only end up paying out scholarships to half or a quarter of the students they'd promised money to.End result is, you graduate with more debt than you would take on for a house, and the only thing you have to show for it is a crap-tier job paying a little above what you could make as an Amazon delivery driver.

The pay is in what's called a "bathtub" distribution -- the biglaw people make $200K/year, everyone else is on the other end of the scale starting out at maybe $50K to $60K. There's absolutely nothing in the middle unless you're in a specialist field like patent law.
