My ~90 year old aunt told me that the Iran war was justified because it was an on going feud and "they bombed NYC" and took hostages. But Saudi Arabians did 9/11. I think the hostages were due to a rumor that the USA would install the Shah again, so that seems fairly justified given the history of having foreign entities steal your resources and allow corruption. She also said Iran would launch missiles at the USA, but they are on the other side of the world and can't realistically hit Ukraine without wasting too many resources.
