Is esteemed geopolitical wonk Mearsheimer right?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z_lC7ETLB0
>>
outside of ground troops or using a nuclear weapon, he's not wrong. US is completely cucked to Iran, Iran can now just let the total world economy crash as it closes all the major trading roots.

There's literally nothing we can do that won't make the situation worse for ourselves and the rest of the world.

cia tucker vs jew: the debate
>>
>>539783138
The big issue is also the fact that Iran can hit the gulf state desalination plants, which would be a humanitarian disaster since everyone living there would have to leave pretty much instantly as the water runs out. If that happens then obviously the oil production stops too so it's their ultimate trump card, even more so than the strait of hormuz is.

Iran isn't going to do that lightly but if thinks the regime is going to collapse (like if the US does a huge invasion) then it will 100% do that.

Listen Langley, I've seen you in too many other threads to believe that Irish flag, so I read all condescension from you as an admission of guilt. You're trying personal insults because you don't have arguments.

And that's much confirmed by your linked video. He's saying that Putin wouldn't try to CONQUER Ukraine as in take it over and make it property to rebirth the USSR, but that he absolutely would WRECK Ukraine or put it in a frozen conflict to make sure it can't be in NATO. Which is exactly what's happened. Because you're using NAFO-approved talking points you interpret the current conflict as an attempt at "conquering" Ukraine and remaking the USSR, so to you that means Mearsheimer was wrong, but that's not what happened. Putin is responding to attempted NATO expansion into Ukraine by blowing up a lot of it and making sure it stays in a conflict, so what is happening is exactly what Mearsheimer predicted would happen according to this speech.

Red Sea and Strait of Hormuz are the two major trading routes in the world. The port of Jeddah has been closed down Houthis in Yemen, making the Suez Canal effectually moot at as well.

China reduced it's consumption of oil by 40%, they just recently said they are no longer doing that. US no longer has a strategic oil reserve to keep pumping up their allies with, artificially making gas prices lower than it should be. Take a while fucking guess what that is gonna do?

>>
>>539783686
Which is what people have been saying is our only out for months, but Trump won't do it because the only way to make that happen is to abandon Israel to its fate and let Iran bulldoze them. Which still remains the only real viable outcome, but Trump both can't afford to look week and is too compromised to let Israel take the fall like that.

Dropping nukes wouldn't solve the problem and would instead create a dozen more problems. The USA would get sanctioned by basically the entire rest of the world overnight, including our allies, and our economy would pretty much immediately collapse. And that assumes that us using nukes doesn't prompt anyone else to do the same, which is far from certain.

That will take years, meanwhile economic collapse from the shortages will take months. It's pretty obvious the US is a paper tiger. Yes we can kill your leaders in an impressive surprise raid, or with a few bombs on their house. But the American public will not tolerate any extended deployment of men and women on the ground. And the men and women being deployed are unmotivated and hate the government for starting a war that cannot be won because there's no clear objective. Our military hardware is also all outmoded multi-billion dollar vanity projects for boomer defense contractors. All of it is easily countered by a guy buying small sub-$100 parts from amazon, arming it with a small explosive and instantly fucking destroying it.
And just a daily reminder, they actually thought they were going to land military personnel in the mountains of Iran, extract uranium and haul it out, and literally fly away with it. On Easter. A plan that went awry when a few random dudes with AKs noticed Americans staging for an op. This is the twilight of the American empire.
>>
>>539786968
The majority of the Middle East is now under American control. Try to keep up buddy. It's not the 1980s anymore.
>>
>>539787072
> But the American public will not tolerate any extended deployment of men and women on the ground.

This holds America back a lot. America needs that united spirit it had in the past. The lack of public support turns political figures into cowards. The ones who don't get labelled as traitors. Obviously a lot of hawks inner circles are profiteering but that would trickle down to the economy over time. The more America grows the more Americans will benefit through trade.
>>
>when the war first started people were saying that in a few months the global economy would collapse because of the strait being closed

This is either an advanced troll or IDF AI. I would pay $100 to see this poster on video making these points, without smirking or having 6 fingers

The United States has depleted it's munition stockpile to dangerously low levels. That is not up for debate, it's been stated multiple times by credible sources including military generals. Our strategic oil reserves, while not empty, are going from "we can cruise for a while" to "make a fucking deal just bend over ASAP". Even your orange nigger said we were weeks from oil running out and that's why he signed the first MOU.

We have spent absurd amounts of money attacking Iran to achieve ???

>We weakened them
And yet they are still able to disrupt the strait. Between the strait being closed and now the red sea, we are at risk of a serious economic downfall. Even your kike trump-approved economists are saying that.

>We stopped them from getting nukes!
They were not developing nukes. There is no evidence saying they were developing nukes except for suspicious last minute "intelligence" from people who have been begging for this war for decades. We killed their original leader who has a fatwa against nukes, and have proven to them that you absolutely need nukes

Retards like you defending the admins ill-planned war have an agenda and it's easy to see. It's almost entertaining watching you defend these retarded decisions, until I realize that kike like you are the reason we are in this quagmire

You've got to bump those numbers.

>The United States has depleted it's munition stockpile to dangerously low levels. That is not up for debate

This is nothing more than rhetoric. It's still funny how people are still using these arguments. The biggest advantage America has over the whole world and by far is It's logistic capabilities. On top of that they have many stong allies from with good logistic capabilities too. Somehow, you want us to believe that "America has no munitions"?
America and NATO have so much military production that they're even building in Ukraine.

You keep rambling about trump yet i didn't mention him once. Trumps the puppet to distract people. He certainly does a good job at that. The same goes for Israel. I never said i supported or was against Israel. Just more rhetoric.

Let's say for a moment I agree with the strait situation, which i don't, but let's say I do. The strait being closed is harming Iran more than anyone. All that will happen is the world will build new routes and suppliers.

As for the Iranian nukes, I agree with what you siad 100% and that's something I was saying before anyone else. You probably even got that info from me on here.

>Is esteemed geopolitical wonk Mearsheimer right?
lol, no.
america is extremely good at doing two things:
1) finding people
2) putting warheads where we want to
if we want to escalate, we could literally just keep killing their leaders until one gets into power that decides he would rather play ball and not die.
seriously, why are we entertaining this bullshit?
they have nice things? we can take them away in the blink of an eye.
fuck it.
there's so much critical infrastructure we haven't even touched yet, and nothing in the world preventing us from doing so.
personally, i think we should just kill the leader, whover that is, any time anything happens to a ship.
every time a ship gets touched we just kill the leader.
and we keep doing--every time a ship gets touched the leader dies a firey death--until eventually one of them figures out the pattern and decides he'd rather not die a firey death.
that should be our new position: pull out the negotiators and just kill the leaders over and over and over.
you can terrorize the straight, or you can live.
you can't do both.
but, what do i know?

The big thing Mearsheimer is arguing isn't something he's making up out of thin air. It's not just his analysis either.

The bottom line is regime changing Iran successfully is not an easy thing. It's a massive country with difficult terrain and an embedded regime. The US could do it but it would be a huge war, bigger than Iraq, probably going on for years, and there is not the political will to do it. Especially with Trump who has zero attention span in the first place and thinks everything can be resolved with a 'deal' (Iran cannot be resolved with a deal.)

If you want to fight this war to completion it means the gulf states get hammered hard, it means hundreds of thousands of boots on the ground and the strait remains dangerous for potentially years. All of that means the price at the pump goes up
and the global economy gets a big hit.

Those are facts that have to be accepted. If those are unacceptable then the war cannot be fought. And Trump in a midterm year is fixated on trying to get gas back down and doesn't want a war that drags on either. He's also acutely aware of how unpopular this war is in the polls even at the very beginning...

The US military is great but you need to win the peace too. You can't just bomb stuff in a country of 90 million people including multiple rival groups and expect it to rearrange itself into a functioning country again, you need to do it right or don't do it at all.
>>
>>539791707
>they all like not being dead.

The opposite is true with the middle east. The anti American Muslims would rather blow themselves up believing martyrdom and 72 virgins rather than sit down and think strategy.

leadership is not what you are imagining.
they are educated in the US, they like starbucks, they like nice things like running water and electricity and internet connectivity.
most of all, they like being alive so they can continue to enjoy those things.
so, we need to start taking that away.
any time any ship gets touched, we need to kill the leader of iran.
even a dog will learn from this method: bell rings and food shows up.
a ship gets touched and i die.
there's this belief that there's too many drones to do anything about them... okay.

America doesn't need boots on the ground. Iran is rotting from the inside out. The country was already facing hardship before the air strikes. The population is being held hostage and ethnic tensions are rising. Iran isn't another Afghanistan. The population is more concentrated. Trump doesn't make decisions, the military does. These are operations on going for years without Trump. The gulf states are getting heavily supplied with weapons. Iran is desperate hence the last attempts.

The Western world has semi transition from fuel with EV and nuclear. Of course their may be increases but that's always been the way even without war or conflict.

>>
>>539783042
>Is esteemed geopolitical wonk Mearsheimer right?

Wrong. America is going to invade Iran and Israel will ensure that all of NATO goes in with America. But first, the ukraine war has to end. But Putin isnt interested in peace because in about 4 weeks global strategic oil reserves are going to start to run dry. The longer he presses on, the more he can take from the ukies.

Euro politicians will be very interested in a war against Iran immediately after the embarrassing loss in Ukraine. Some cool explosions in sandland and a quick win will make the eurogoys forget what just happened. Then six months later they discover that they are quagmired in Iran with America, the king of quagmire making.

Iran rotting from the inside isn't enough. Again, the country could experience regime collapse and become a quagmire. It's wishful thinking to assume an opposition group will just take power and the country becomes stable.

>. Trump doesn't make decisions
He's the commander in chief, currently the strikes are on pause again because he wants more completely pointless talks...

> The gulf states are getting heavily supplied with weapons
The gulf states have been incredibly reluctant to take any action against Iran themselves in spite of most of Iran's attacks being aimed at them.
The gulf states are also furious with the US right now for this charade of idiotic negotiations, this is a bad situation for them and it will be very very bad if the desalination plants start getting hit.

>Of course their may be increases but that's always been the way even without war or conflict.
I agree. If you go into a war you have to expect to put up with these things.

The problem is Trump and the GOP do not want to put up with this. Trump is trying to get gas down again because right now the GOP are set to lose the senate and the house in the midterms. If that happens then the Dems are going to force the war to an end (remember, it's a very unpopular war with the American people).

I have no doubt that the US could win this war on a timescale of a couple of years, but you're not going to get it won before november. And it isn't an easy war, anyone who says it's an easy war is nuts, even the most hawkish people don't think it's an easy task to regime change Iran.

Vietnam was lost back at home in the US rather than on any battlefield. The US did well in every battle with the NVA but it was the situation back home that ended the war.

They just have to limit the media and stop Iranians from the Internet though. That's how popular they are.

its also retardedly ill informed. there are massive bottlenecks in material acqusition that the Pentagon literally designed to benefit political insiders. like 100% of all the cotton packing used to make explosives is made by one plant in Arizona for example. providing cotton to all of NATO. there are single-firms making maybe 10 interceptor missiles PER YEAR. during the hot period of hostilities they were firing hundreds per week.

You're on here saying things like Iranian have bunkers that go 1km underground, which is laughable if you knew anything about bunkers.

Where or what the fuck are your "on the ground" sources?

The Middle East isn't even our enemies. They're Israel's problem. Why do we keep sending Americans to die so Israel can grow?

This book was a brutal red-pill back in the day. For anyone who is interested I recommend checking out Grant F. Smith's 'Big Israel' for a more comprehensive albeit boring account on the Israeli lobby and it's nefarious influence over American domestic and foreign policy.

Yes, Russia is not afraid of a NATO invasion from Sweden or Finland. But it is afraid of one from the Ukraine. Read a book for once.

No, Anglo-Germanic. I’ve traced my male line to England in the 1600s and Germany in the 1800s.

Lobbying to receive state-funding for pro-Israeli organizations and initiatives such as education around antisemitism or legislation to prevent criticism/boycotts of Israel

For example: Texas House Bill 89 prohibits any state government body from contracting any company that boycotts Israel.

This is made possible through a myriad of umbrella organizations and political action committees that leverage a vast network of individual donors (Evangelical Zionists, Jews and various other sycophants such as RINO Republicans) to finance pro-Israeli political campaigns at the state-level.
