Basically every day I wish I could go back to the 2000s, or 90s. how and why did everything go to shit so fucking fast? my theory is we never recovered from the 2008 financial crisis—- and this coincided with the Pandora’s box problem of wide spread adoption of the internet/smart phones. So you had individual purchasing power fail at the same time that socially everythinf started to get fucked up too. Not a “new theory” but any means. it’s crazy, I meet people now who are in their early 20s and many of them feel like the world is fucked. like they can’t make friends, no community, can’t find a partner, like everythinf is pointless, etc. while I have nostalgia that is crushing and makes me wish I could go back, many people seem to not even be able to relate now to times that felt good when society wasn’t so fucked up.
