KOSPI is being trashed af. In the current selloff, high leverage (margin debt, leveraged ETFs, derivatives) triggered rapid margin calls and forced liquidations. Leveraged ETF rebalancing created a feedback loop of automatic selling, accelerating the -34% drop into just 6 weeks versus 12 months during the COVID plan-demic. Crazy shit.

Possibly an early warning (but not yet the burst) of the US AI bubble imo. The rapid KOSPI crash (AI/semiconductor heavy, leveraged retail unwind + SK Hynix miss) reflects growing doubts on AI capex sustainability/valuations/returns amid super high spending. High correlation with US Nasdaq/tech means its a stress test for the AI trade.

If you held kospi you were just concentrating risk on 2 companies in the same sector.
Then people leveraged that.
What the fuck

The KOSPI just dropped as much as -9.8% intraday, closing down -6.0%, triggering a circuit breaker for a 2nd consecutive day. It is far from normal. If it doesnt stop soon, the early bubble-burst warning (still my bet) might turn into an igniter.

Thoughts?

Source tells me Kospi is stable.

Please God

>hyper communist shithole and hyper capitalist shithole in 1 tiny peninsula
>cult capital of the world
>hyper woke and on the verge of a military dictatorship simultaneously
>prudes who generate only shallow, degenerate media
>they all take out massive leveraged loans as soon as they discover the stock market
Koreans are retarded extremists, news at 11. I don't know what fucked up psychological experiment made this kind of self destructive mindset.

Not comparable at all really, since the American AI companies did not see anywhere close to that growth. MS is down by 10% over the last 6 months and Nvidia has basically remained at +-0 for example.
Meanwhile, the KOSPI (actually just 2-3 chip manufacturers) were up by 80% or something within the same time period before the dumping started

Not my KOSPI! Imagine the implications! Anons just a few weeks ago were only talking about the whole thing collapsing! Can you imagine?
Can they still buy rice?????????

Samsung + SK Hynix represent >50% of KOSPI and are key HBM/memory suppliers for US hyperscalers data centers (Nvidia, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta). Data center DRAM demand share rose to >50% in 2026. KOSPI-Nasdaq 100 60-day correlation hit 0.50 (highest since 2021). US AI capex drives their revenue. SK Hynix miss + leverage unwind exposed valuation sensitivity after 80%+ local gains vs modest US moves (MSFT -10% 6M, NVDA flat). Foreign selling hit records. Concentrated supply chains create contagion risk. Weak Korean demand signals softer end-market AI monetization or capex digestion. Historical precedent (semiconductor cycles) shows supplier corrections precede broader tech repricing via earnings revisions and risk premia rise. Diversification illusion breaks under correlated shocks. You better monitor hyperscaler results closely if you still dont believe that uncontrolled KOSPI crash would have any impact on the USrael xD

If you haven't noticed yet, KOSPI is severely undervalued than Taiwanese or Japanese stock markets, even though the operating profits of Samsung and SK Hynix topped that of TSMC respectively this year. This devaluation will only last for a brief period and will switch back to bullish again as soon as the uncertainties in the AI sectors are resolved. Also, chinks can't enter high performance HBM3, let alone HBM4 due to the lack of cutting edge processes no matter what their mouthpieces say.

BTW, i accessed CXMT via Hong Kong Stock Connect throught the Northbound link and managed to buy for 70% above IPO price (near Shanghai levels) so still very good and i managed to earn already on the debut itself.

I am not expert at KOSPI desu. I buy only Chinese/American champions with solid dividends as the world would be probably largely divided between these two powers. I avoid European and other stocks desu. I currently hedged to almost 70% Chinese vs 30% American due to rising bubble burst risks.

K-Pop is still sexy and i watched "Gunche/Colony" horror movie recently - a decent one, 6/10. Even if Samsung goes bankrupt, SK still has a lot to offer, like Furry K-Pop or +half-naked female K-Pop or whatever xD
