The Blue Division was brave, but that does not change the fact that Franco cost the Axis the war. As others noted, the División Azul was voluntary and was eventually recalled by the pompous autocrat in Madrid. Had Franco forced a fight for the Strait and diverted the judeo Bri ish attention/resources, Rommel would have blasted all the way to Jerusalem.
