Second, the Serbs immediately abolished the Croatian Parliament, Croatia hoped to have a greater degree of autonomy than in Austria-Hungary, in reality it lost everything it had. They put all Croatian politicians in prison. They ruled the country as if it were a military administration, their gendarmes beat 50,000 people by 1925, they simply mistreated the population. They killed 2-3 key Croatian intellectuals, and the worst - in the parliament in Belgrade, they killed the entire political leadership of Croatia. It is not possible to live together with someone who despises and abuses you, the Serbs are the only ones to blame for everything that happened to them in WW2, even though that legend about the Ustasha was brutally exaggerated, in order to extract reparations from Germany and prevent Croatia from becoming independent because "fascists do not deserve a state".
