Financial anon with some data. -The AI bubble continues to deflate. Bonds for the hyperscalers (data centers that buy the chips) are plummeting. Credit default swaps (insurance on the bonds) are rising rapidly. This means the continued credit to pay for the AI spend bubble and buildout of stuttering. Even the mighty NVIDIA CDS are rising fast. They have issued 3/4 trillion almost in backstopping its CUSTOMERS debt so the customers can buy their chips (round tripping/circular finance). Free cash flow in the MAG7 is collapsing. Private credit markets which have bankrolled the last round of buildout before the like of NVidia had to wreck their balance sheets, are looking dangerously over leveraged. At risk of default. No revenue materialising to pay for all these trillions. The burst is happening in Asia first as the markets see all this and begin getting out. All share prices are massively leveraged with debt. And as the price falls forced selling accelerated the collapse. China now even ahead in the models with Kimi. 20% the cost. China has energy 80% cheaper. And this week is now building its own DUV chips machines. Goodbye western moat and tech headstart. There’s NO good news. All in the headwind of energy crisis with Korea and Japan massively dependent on gulf oil. Diesel skyrocketing. And no alternative. Also bond crisis looming for G7 western aligned nations. TLDR. The Iranian China Russian strategy is already crippling the Eagle alliance. And they are just getting started.
>>539830595Next diesel. I’ll keep it short75% of US refiner are complex ones. Setup for refining “heavy sour” (gulf Russian Canadian Venezuelan). You can only get Diesel, heating oil, aviation fuel from this (generally). While the US has large production and exports of “light sweet” crude West Texas Intermediate. It’s actually a net importer of gulf heavy sour and almost completely dependent on that for the above refined products. Especially diesel. See the image. That’s called the “crack spread”. Basically. You buy a barrel of oil. And refine a certain amount of gas/pertol, diesel/avgas/heatoil. The chart indicates. That the refiners. Profitably for them. With the driving down of prices through market shennagigans. Are refining oil (exact mix isn’t public data). But they are selling the the diesel barrels for near 5x the price of the crude they refined it from. What that means is. The supply of diesel is extremely tight. Which means they are very short of the gulf cheap crude the whole US refining network was built to use. They have lots of WTI light sweet but it’s being exported. Because you can’t get diesel/av/heatoil from it. And 75% of US refineries can handle only that. The chart for Europe is the same. Major shortage of heavy sour crude. Major shortage of DIESEL (runs the economy). And it’s spiking really fast. Saudi red seal supply was the last thing keeping things going. Now 50% of that supply is gone from Yemeni attacks. TLDR. Diesel crisis ahead.
