>>539855307Las Vegas has one industry and it is currently dying. I optimistically give the city maybe 20 years before it becomes the next Detroit.
>>539855307I'm a las vegas homeowner, and I moved here in the early 2010s because the city was empty, had great infrastructure (they overbuilt highways around 2008) and homes were dirt cheap. I mean like a 3 bedroom large home for 100k. It was paradise. Now it's full of niggers. Vast numbers moved to LV during Covid from CA because of vaccine restrictions and skyrocketing rentsthat's why people are leaving LV. Niggers.

>>539855307Las Vegas casinos have turned into hellholes full of niggers and mudsharks, I don't even think they give free cocktails to the blackjack players anymore. Everything is ridiculously overpriced so it's going to morph into maybe a marquee destination for really rich people, but the middle class bread and butter tourists are going to disappear. Who wants to spend $500 a night to rub shoulders with Tyrone and his mudshark and watch fights on the strip just so you can pay $89 per head for some shitty brunch served by a disgruntled mexican. Plus it gets like 115° in the summer. Vegas is returning to the desert.
>>539855307Las Vegas used to be dirt cheap. Vacation packages. Cheap luxury hotel stays. All meals included. Friendly staff everywhere. Attractions for the family. Anything to lure you into a casino to lose a couple thousand or more. Now. Pay a premium for shit everything. Terrible customer experiences. Shit $100 buffet tickets. And they want you to lose Everytime in the casino. Fuck em'. Bunch of drugged out lizard fucking assholes.

>>539856734The non boomers can just gamble on their phone from the comfort of their own (rented) home. Las Vegas is a dying city. The thing that used to make it special, gambling is now in every state. Just a few clicks away.
>>539855307Wasn't Las Vegas founded by creatures that were so vile, wicked, and evil that they were thrown out of places like NYC and Chicago by the still somewhat moral and decent mafioso?
>>539855307It's because the entire city has shifted towards catering towards the top 1% of earners. The casinos closed their loss leader buffets, which by themselves brought in middle class people from afar and even working class people within daytrip distance. Local businesses then could sell cheap to foot traffic, thus creating a strong local economy for, you know, the locals. Now? They can't. The food costs as much as you're going to lose on the games. The hotel rooms? Also expensive. The casinos are now frequented by only the most retarded of the bourgeoisie, whales. The middle class has been priced out, and the people working there cannot even afford to live in Vegas. I can't help but think that this was all the casino executive's reaction to Stephen Paddock. The rampant price hike is why the Heart Attack Grill closed its doors, by the way.

>>539857393>a wellForgot to mention that one, thanks. That's before you even put a single chip downI take that back, it does have one thing special. It's a place where you can easily get high end, top tier escorts and fuck porn stars for a price of course.
>>539857680>11$ Atm feesIf that's not just a microcosm of the problems in Vegas. I was there a couple months ago for a conference. Brought $200 to piss away on gambling because, fuck it, I'd never been to Vegas before and I'll probably never go back. Lost that $200 pretty quickly and decided to be dumb and piss away another hundred. The casino's ATM wanted TWELVE. DOLLARS. to make a withdrawal, and of course there's no banks on the strip. So I came to my senses and didn't spend another dime in the casino. Congrats, you money-grubbing shits, you could've had another 2-300 bucks but you HAD to have that $12 first, so instead you get nothing. These casinos are the definition of pennywise and pound foolish.

Lights off in Primm. Primm closed on the Fourth of July, 2026. Primm's final event was a short America 250 video followed by security and janitors doing a final sweep of the casino floor before locking everyone out. Employees lined up at the main office to get their final pay and leave. The Flying J is still on but less and less truckers stop since, because fleets have consolidated, most big companies do all refueling in-house as they can buy a better rate direct from the refinery than field buys. Soon all the trucks will be electric and won't need to stop. Already most of the LA-Chicago manifest trains do not stop.

Brightline, supported by California smog fees and income taxes, is coming in. Regardless if it's really successful or not, the next iteration of Las Vegas will be around it's end station because that's where the Californians will be. The South Las Vegas Premium Outlets and Caine's are about to be the most popular slots in the entire city, until Clark County stops being retarded and removes the American Porn Museum to rebuild the Fremont Street station.Las Vegas is going through it's most difficult transition ever. Las Vegas has only known growth, wealth and prosperity. First this was with the Federal Inter-state run through it, then it was the jet plane and declining airfare worldwide. Internationally, Las Vegas exploited this to become the world's casino. Even after 9/11 when American air carriers started choking and dying off, Las Vegas continued to rise because Nellis is where our national UAV drone control center is. The recent Ukraine War and Iran War has removed that, forcing control up to the front line. The massive resort casinos won't make it. Half of them are built for a wealthy America that doesn't exist anymore. The other half are built for an international chinese clientele that Trump threatens.
My in-laws moved to Vegas about ten years back. Their area isn't very nice but they seem to like it. Maybe we'll keep their house when they die but I doubt it. Used to go once a year but the pricing now is retarded and security saw my cock last time lol. Cool place to be if you're rich though. If I win the lottery I will definitely spend a year or two there eating in restaurants five times a day and probably dying so that will be nice
>>539855307Vegas is basically cutting out the poors and catering to richfags only. And that is killing all sorts of businesses in the area. As a result the employment in the city is tanking hard. Which means: no one can afford to live there anymore. Which means a population exodus. Which means cheap housing because everyone is selling and no one is buying. And of course browns don't make it fun either.
Macau exists now, and has a direct rail connection to mainland China. Las Vegas has no mass transit, being the largest American city without it. Las Vegas never saw a need, because they always had money, and their money would always grow. The money ran out months ago, and now homeowners are starting to realize that they don't have any buyers. Californians who can afford their homes would rather stay in California than risk living around Republicans, while other Republicans stay in Utah. It is a no win situation where people don't want to move in to Southern Nevada. Reno actually grew in 2025. Mostly from Californians, but also new mines and industrial plants going up. Northern Nevada is much closer to Northern California than Las Vegas is to Los Angeles, so Reno benefits from Sacramento's continued growth.
Didn't see it mentioned but Nevada has the most expensive car insurance premiums in the country. Las Vegas is particularly bad with all the ambulance chasing attorneys and crooked doctors. Get in a fender bender and you'll be sued for $200,000. Meanwhile someone without insurance will rear end you and drive away, police will never arrest them.
Things are returning to normal. Nevada in it's natural state was oriented towards the north and center around Reno, Sparks and Carson City because it's the other side of Lake Tahoe, a reliable source of fresh water. The mighty Colorado is, after many long decades of abuse and exploitation, finally giving up as climate change reduces the Rockies snow pack. California has already adapted to this by raising residental water rates and redeveloping farmland, Southern Nevada is still in complete denial about Lake Mead's draining. This will also cause power outages when the lake recedes below the Dam's threshold. It's at this point Southern Nevada homeowners would then have to build massive solar fields imported from China, or a gas pipeline from California. Either way it will not be cheap and homeowners will see their costs rise as their equity decreases. This is not an environment new people or families will buy into. It's one they'll leave.
>>539856734>The other generations are broke and don't care for cashnados.Incorrect, they are addicted to anime gatcha games and other FTP mobile slop. Vegas lost the younger gens because they refused to shove anime girls into their lineup. That is why it's just boomers - they are so lead addled that cashnado works on them. Zoomers need anime tiddies and waifus to get them hooked. >>539856860Solar will just replace it, it's a desert for fucks sake, panels be raking in energy out there. The coming water shortage is more pressing.
>>539861002the automobile is a jewish machine. I will never, ever live somewhere I need one to live comfortably.
>>539861123Funny that NV energy just enacted a new policy to charge solar users a higher rate. The new policy uses a peak usage charge to adjust the bill based on when a home owner is using power at night and the solar panels are inactive. They say this is so they can lower the rates for homes without solar but nobody believes that. Just a way to rip people off, that's all Vegas is about. Meanwhile NV energy is happy to buy back the excess energy during the day at a discounted rate only to sell it back to Nevadans with a huge upcharge.
>>539861123Guess how much of lake mead the entire STATE of Nevada uses?3%. Lake Mead is a non issue used for local news site clicks.
>>539861182Las Vegas's biggest problem is that when gas gets really expensive, people have no alternative. They must buy gas. And all the gas is imported from California so they will pay California prices. Sure they could get electric cars, but with Hoover Dam running low energy prices go up. California's data centers are also rising prices too, as they can prepurchase allotments from NVE. This hurts the casinos badly as it costs more to transport people by jet then taxi into them, but it also drives up the base electricity cost of keeping all the slot machines and A/C on.People will just go bankrupt. When that happens it'll be like any other defunct city. Homes are foreclosed, tenants evicted or put on bad lease terms, and everything melts away until people leave and niggers take over the abandoned homes. Then the bottom falls out and white people go back to defendable areas, like Fremont Street or Henderson, which are modified to resemble castles and not places you can just walk up into. That's how Las Vegas really dies, when it's just gated communities surrounded by walls, divided by the great empty strip. Just like Atlantic City.
>>539857301>repeat of 2008I'd like that, even if my own home loses valueso therefore it won't happen
>>539861672It's exactly the same policy the California Public Utilities Commission made verbatim. The home solar era is over. You will pay more for PG&E, Edison or NVE panels. And, if Trump has his way, the latter two will probably merge as antitrust regulations come down.
>>539856759They killed the hooker industry when they passed that law banning backpages and craiglist personals. Only fans is popular because you can't find a good hooker anymore.
>>539861709It's not so much Lake Mead itself but the river flow. If the flow is too little, power production is hurt. Power is paid, water is not, so WAPA has an extremely strong incentive to allow the water to flow out rather than retain it. California and Arizona already encounter this problem frequently with their own water systems, especially with the successful push to remove the power dams in Eurkea and Hetch Hetchy. There is simply less electricity being made, as demand increases due to electric cars and data centers. Trump ordering California to dump their stored water and the end of the delta tunnels doesn't help either. It's all stress on a system that was never designed for this level of energy consumption.
>>539861858They never wanted home owners to have solar in the first place, imagine limiting the size of panel a home can install based on how many people live there. Shouldn't have mattered, you own the property you buy the panels you should be able to have the biggest panels you care to install. But that would make energy too affordable and allow many to disconnect from the grid entirely. An antisemitic notion when the state approved monopoly energy provider stands to lose some shekels. Maybe one day we can try real capitalism and allow competition in critical markets.
