>magic box let's me do stuff smart people do, without all the studying and expense of school.
>what do you mean they raised the price!? I was almost done with my To Do Application, I've already spent 1250 hours , and $6k on it, and can't afford the tokens to get through even one prompt any more!? Reeeeee

Stupid people have only so much money, and it's getting used up rather quickly at this point, and they're still selling it at a loss.

It's very impressive and useful for coding and basically nothing else. It's not going to change the world other than software and is overvalued

You have to approach this like coding though, start from different angles, iterate to a common ground.

First, neither Anthropic nor OpenAI nor most of those AI providers are public yet so you can't short them.
Of the mainstream providers, only Microsoft, Google, Meta and recently SpaceX are and their main money making business isn't LLM AI models either so shorting them on AI related speculation alone is stupid.

Second, the problem isn't wether AI is or isn't useful. The problem is that those companies are going balls deep, investing tens of billions on infrastructure that, so far, hasn't been proven to be needed. They'll never make back those investments.

I'm not saying they shouldn't upgrade their infrastructure, but they're going way beyond what they actually need. The US in particular is getting almost 1000 datacenters this past couple years and nobody knows what most of them are for, despite their massive demands power, hardware and even fucking water.

AI will obviously be used in the future but open weight models are always just lagging half a year behind. As soon as an economic setback happens and datacenters or PC parts are cheaper to get companies should just host and train their own ai.

They're exactly on par with closed-weight frontier models now. Kimi K3 goes blow-for-blow with Opus 5 and it's free to download. You have to have million dollar hardware right now to run it, but that will change. And when that day comes, Anthropic's valuation will collapse

I'm a normalfag when it comes to tech, but I paid the $20 a month for chatGPT to help me work on my website and I'm fairly impressed by it. It's like having a business intern. Sure, it fucks things up from time to time and it's always overconfident, but I'm surprised how useful it is for me. I'm basically an antisocial hermit and I use it for my business but also psychology, dream analysis, digging up old memes, planning workouts and nutrition, things like that. Is there anything better around that price point or is that pretty decent? I've never tried grok or claude or any of these other things.

GPT is the best deal in LLMs at the moment, because they're losing to Claude so offering generous usage limits to try to catch up. It's worth playing around with Claude Fable and Opus to see whether you like those better, but you pretty much have the best deal going right now already. Warning that Fable absolutely chews usage limits and is really only intended for architecting big software projects.

When Kimi K3 opens up to signups again, I plan on buying a month and checking it out. One of the big advantages of Chinese models if you can do security reviews of codebases without the behavior of the western models which screech and shut themselves down because they assume you're a hacker. This behavior was mandated by the Trump administration, so you have to go to Chinese models for any security work.

Thanks for the reply. I don't do really tech intensive projects, it's more marketing focused and ux type stuff. Integrating Klavio was probably my most technically demanding task. Lol Sounds like I'm already in the sweet spot. I hope you tech nerds jailbreak a new AI Hitler for us soon.
