Your days are numbered you filthy anime pirates
>>
If Nyaa falls, Japan falls.
>>
Just nuke them again
>>
Who gives a shit? It's just a tracker. DHT exists and has existed for a long time. As long as IP addresses can peer with one another this is a non-issue. CG-NAT can be bypassed too, so it's a non issue. Get over it already
>>
>>539868749
>tokyo police
i doubt the majority users of nyaa are from japan. the source file can be shared privately and then seeded outside japan.
>>
>>539868749
This isn't 1997. Take one down and three more will appear.
>>
People really need to save stuff locally
>>
>>539868749
It's been closed before, and another came up in less than a week.
>>
the internet as we knew it is already dead and the rest is gonna get nuked over the next few years

if you didnt back up your shit pre corona you were never gonna make it
>>
>>539868749
>saar we ban the website
>this will not stop torrenting since it's impossible but this will make it seem like ww stopped it to the retards
>>
Oh shit, i get everything from there.
>>
I'm getting back into pirating since all the shit I want is 90 plus dollars and fuck paying that. Never should have stopped.
>>
>>539868749
nyaa.se already got deleted and .si filled its spot straight away
>>
>>539868749
Anime should be sold in the west for its original price.
>>
I buy blu-rays from Japan myself. A lot of money was taken away from excellent studios due to Western piracy (largely by people with more than enough money to pay for a show or movie or 2000.)
Poor countries should be allowed to pirate but unfortunately all of the internet is connected so...it is what it is.
>>
It'll just show up again with a different domain like it has the last five or six times it's been "taken down."
>>
>>539868749
>Boomer and GenX managers pretend to understand how the internet works round 190,745,123
>>
This keeps happening because fucking no one understands opsec anymore. Stop name-dropping places. Stop openly linking and sharing shit. Stop spoon-feeding retards. If you don't know, find out yourself. If you can't find out yourself, tough shit.
>>
>>539869729
Nips brought it on themselves.
All they had to do is set up a streaming service and open it to the global audience.

(But that would require figuring out CDNs and video distribution n shiet, easier to just go after pirates instead.)
>>
Copyright laws need to be stopped. No data should be illegal, calling some shitstain Coca Cola does not detract from Coca Cola sales, it is a method of censorship and tyranny
>>
>>539869986
Akshually, video distribution is quite solved. Legality is not.
And I hope it's not, because it's a protective layer against Western puritanism.
>>
>>539868749
lol, lmao even

They have a snowball's chance in hell of success.

Good. Nevermind the fact that the analogy is fucking retarded. Kill all weebs and zipperheads.
>>
>>539868749
i've never paid for anime, but i have bought music cds, artbooks, and posters because of an anime i have pirated. taking down nyaa would be an end to that.
>>
>>539868749
>bled the anime industry dry for years
I'm not going to defend piracy, but THAT is a lie.
Piracy is mostly the result of artificially restricted availability.
You couldn't access most anime for the longest time outside Japan. (And even now...)
nyaa primarily makes content available, that's not accessible outside Japan in the first place.
Make no mistake: It's illegal. Period. It's not "bleeding the anime industry dry", though, far from it.
>>
>>539869002
This happened before and there were at least 2 forks of the site before the original came back.
>>
How come they don't do this for JAV? There are loads of site where you can download or stream any JAV ever made.
>>
>>539868749
>Its my fucking right to have free anime and have it subbed for me
>I don’t care about paying people for their work or creations
>I deserve everything AI will make it for me anyways
Piracy fags are always immensely privileged communists.
>>
>>539868749
I use streaming sites and never had a problem finding a new one once one went down. Just sucks, because I'd like to be able to track the shows I watch and the episodes I've seen. I guess this is the cost of piracy.
>>
>>539869729
3 episodes per bluray no thanks
>>
>>539870203
Nigga, if it's Japanese servers in a Japanese jurisdiction then there's literally zero legal issues.

The issue is entirely the lack of technical skills in Japanese IT companies.
>>
>>539870608
Without piracy I wouldn't consume any of your media.
>>
>>539870772
In Japan, the discs are not supposed to be the distribution medium.
Every enthusiast records the broadcasts. The reason to buy the discs is to support the further production of shows.
That's why the Japanese price tags are insane: People are willing to pay that, because they see it as a donation of sorts.
>>
>>539870904
You don't know much unfortunately, which is pretty common for people who repeat this silly meme about 'technical skills' lacking in JP.
>>
>>539870772
Estonia would be within the 'allowed-to-pirate' zone in my analysis anyway. The problem is not you or other countries, it is NA and Western Europe who have massive amounts of spending money and yet don't spend on what they 'say' is very valuable to them.
>>
no one cares about your shitty pedophile cartoons
>>
>>539868749
Fuck. Don't touch my Nyaa you filthy japs.
>>
>>539868749
Japan would be the richest nation of earth if anime piracy didn't exist, let that sink
>>
>>539868749
Japan has no jurisdiction outside Japan. You can't touch international seeders. Worst case it gets hosted on sealand or similar. 90% of broadcast anime is ripped from crunchyroll anyway. Nobody is buying blurays at $30 an episode ichiro.
>>
>>539868749
TELL THEM TO FUCKING HIRE THE BASEMENT DWELLERS SO WE CAN HAVE SUBS THAT AREN'T DONE BY A SUBVERSIVE CORPORATION WASTING MONEY ON FAGGOTRY.
>pay for crunchyroll once
>literally worse than piracy
>it somehow got worse in the intervening years

Boggles my mind how nips are still unable to create a god damn Steam/Netflix style front for Anime. I've been a coder for a few years and even I could do that in a matter of a few weeks if you pair me with 2-3 Network engineers. But no let's stay in the stone age I guess.
>>

I don't want to stream. I don't want to pay. Simple as.

I wish there was a replacement for gogoanime, there was a lot of 80s and 90s stuff in good quality that could be directly downloaded from the player.
>>
>>539868749
Do the Japanese not understand that if they kill anime piracy they will kill western viewership of Japanese anime?

They already saw this happen with Light Novels. Japanese companies cracked down on fan translated LNs and this opened the door for Chinese and Korean WNs that then eclipsed Japanese WNs in popularity.

We already have a few popular Chinese anime series. If they stop Japanese anime piracy then Chinese anime will just take over.
>>
>>539872366
It's too bad light novels are literal toilet paper.

Chinese anime is absolute trash tho. I would just stop watching anime altogether before I start watching Chinese anime.

Chinese anime is bland because they have to tiptoe around their government.
>>
Anime has stagnated for a long time, both in creative original output and in terms of the quality of animation in what is produced.
Since 2010 it's been non-stop moe anime slice of life, poorly animated poorly drawn, simple shapes and lack of detail.
If it's not moe SoL it's isekai. If it's not isekai it's shounen.

That's it, that's the entire industry.
>>
>>539868988
>CG-NAT
How?
>>
>>539872641
I actually enjoy isekai for some odd reason, but my absolute favorite is war/strategy like LOTGH. Two newer war/strategy animes I enjoyed were Kingdom and most recently Nippon Sangoku.
>>
>>539868947
basically... if nyaa goes under their industry dies within year.
>>
>>539872641
There were maybe a few titles worth attention since 2012. You could count them on a single hand.
The most of anime released over last 15 years resembles procedural generation, AI slop but made by humans. They got a large injection of fresh ideas from western media in 80s and 90s, then in early 00s the only thing left was World of Warcraft and stats physically floating over heads of the characters.
>>
The only three anime that deserve to be remembered on this Earth are FLCL, Paranoia Agent, and Cowboy Bebop. The first FMA was okay. I saw one about ping pong that was alright.

The world would be better if the rest is deleted.

Yes I know this is just adult swim stuff but they had good taste. 99% I explored further was inane garbage.

>>539872882

>>
>>539872802

They haven't made anything on the level of say Patlabor, or Akira, or the original Ghost in the Shell in so so long. I don't think they even have the ability anymore.
Traditional hand-drawn animated visually stunning anime is just gone
>>

>>
>>539868749

Cool, if I can't pirate I just won't watch it. I already have a ton of anime saved. Monogatari alone is like 20+ hours to watch lol

Why the fuck is a jeet telling us it watched adult swim on cartoon network in the 2000s? Fucking VPNs.
>>
>>539872781
Just pay for a VPN that allows port forwarding. Or if you have a non-shit ISP, just call them up and ask them to put your ONT into a public IP pool. Even if they are shit, you can usually pay for a static front-facing IP address

For now, but stories like Lord of the Mysteries have done very well. Gacha games show that the Chinese can do the cutesy anime stuff as well.
The Chinese are also more likely to use western written material since the same company runs a popular WN service in China and the west. Although there has been at least one series (The Beginning After The End) that started on Royalroad (a western WN site) that ended up being made into a Japanese anime.
From Korea you've got stories like Solo Leveling.
>>539872474
That's the source material for most anime though.
>>539872802
Because isekai is everywhere. It's basically the first step in the hero's journey. We've had popular stories like A Princess of Mars from Edgar Rice Burroughs that hit many of the popular Isekai tropes for a century. This shit's older than Lord of the Rings.

i'm aware which is why i've been 90% of the time just watching the backlog from shows mostly from before 2015 and it's still rare because i'm running out of good stuff to watch. last good, relatively, was eighty-six

almost every time i check the seasonal charts it's just the same isekai concept done for the 17th time. i wish there was a good, objective source for what is good every season but all the sites i find is just retarded opinions and youtubers trying to sell every single anime that comes out as good or worth watching when none of it is

That sounds stupid. Just ditch the blu-rays and sell more merch then, who needs useless discs that will not bring anything new? Maybe a couple of de-censors and that's it.

In fact, there are old anime that still sell like crazy in the West, but Japanese companies refuse to produce merch for titles that have already been out of the seasonal cycle, god knows why.

They care more about producing scarcity than about making a profit, perhaps it's the only way to keep current slop profitable as people with standards don't have a better alternative to spend their money on.
