On top of that, in the 2-3 years before people started going back to the movies again, everything became WAY more social media focused from people becoming super online during the lockdown. Which played directly into corporate execs making all of their decisions based on shit like twitter metrics, which had drastically tanked movie quality across the board. There are only a couple of major tentpole films by big directors left, and then some zoomer movies like Backrooms that people are interested in because its fresh, and everything else is totally forgettable.
