>A town in New Jersey has been sued for $300 million by a data center developer who claims that the authorities violated several of its rights.
>Developer Hexa Builders is suing the Monroe Township council and planning board after it chose in May to reject Hexa’s application to build a 1,000,000 sq ft (92,903 sqm) data center at 3043 Black Horse Pike.
>Hexa’s 102-page lawsuit, filed with the New Jersey Superior Court in early June, lists twenty counts against Monroe Township, accusing it of violating its constitutional zoning power, the doctrine of fundamental fairness, the First Amendment, the Fourteenth Amendment, and more.
>The developer argues that Monroe Township’s rejection of the data center application was reflective of the township’s bias against data centers, rather than the quality of the application itself. Monroe Township’s justification for rejecting the project was that it was incomplete, which Hexa disputes.
>Hexa’s lawsuit calls for the repeal of an ordinance banning data centers town-wide – this was passed by the township in April, about a month before its rejection of Hexa’s application – as well as monetary compensation.

something is extremely wrong, if these companies need to build those datacenter... and those datacenters are such important investments that need absurds amount of water.
Then why not build them in offshore heavens like cayman islands, that tropical island gets a lot of rainfal and they could just build a power plant there to feed the electricity.
Taxes are extremely low, strong rule of law, stability, smaller population pool but higher quality of life.
Or they could go to some vassal state like El Salvador that has more than abundant water resources, cheap labour and energy.
Even to the extreme, you could install those in madagascar.

This thing is weird... these companies are not installing compute in those datacenters, something does not add up, you could get far higher returns on investments building those elsewhere without community backlash.

These "cites" aren't even cities. It's under 50k in population.
These places would be ignored any other time in history except for building industrial areas/parks.

The datacenter is doing exactly what all other companies have done for the last 100 years and the towns have largely accepted it.

Its probably a massive scam to take subsidies because they cant build outside the country on us dime, so they get huge ass areas to clear cut that will likely never be used to their full extant. Ready to bet the majority of these lands will never get develloped properly, and will stay vacant forever as it get reposessed due to ai corpos going bankrupt due to incapability to reimburse their debt plus insolvancy since they definitely do not have the assets and liquidities to reimburse said debt.

The men of this town need to form a militia and send a strong statement to them that if they want any money they'll have to come and get it over their dead bodies. If they engage in any financial wizardy to obtain it through the banks and courts, they need to swear to hunt them down and kill them before they get to spend a penny of it.

Nothing else is going to work. Every aspect of our society is captured by shabbos goy capitalists. Violence is the only legitimate answer we have left.

It is like there will be blood in the opening scene. DDL still needs to convince the population and make an offer in order to entice and win over the people to allow him access to the land to start drilling. sub 40 IQ comparison. factories and warehouses provided living wage jobs to hundreds of people in the community. i know this because my hometown has several factories. the one i worked at had 600 employees. outside of temporary construction workers, data centers employ very few people in addition to running up electricity and water costs.

What's the point of a data center that's far away from the population? You want your servers as close as possible so your devices have lower latency.
>>
>>539895569
They are already doing it in at least Utah, Nevada, Texas, Wyoming and Nebraska. Almost always on water distressed places. It probably sucks to be a farmer or rancher if irrigation becomes impossible or way more expensive. Electric bills going to moon is always nice for locals.

Honestly, it takes special kind of stupid to build data centers in place where access to cooling water is a problem, uses open loop cooling so it pollutes the water and best of all, uses non-replenishing aquifers as water source.

Threatening a whole town huh? Probably a town they would rely on for infrastructure and services.

What they should do, the town, let the data center in.
Then just repeatedly burn it to the fucking ground and half-assed investigate it. Let them waste their money on it, then allow it to be destroyed with zero compensation/recourse.

All capitalists deserve this fate. Fuck with the people, get fucked by the people.
