>>539897169The chickens are grown for weight. Costco needs them to be exactly 5 lbs. Its a loss leader. They put it in the back of the store so you have to walk by all of the other items. The equation may be going back towards profit though chicken production is way up in the US its brought prices down. Beef prices are insane atm though.
