NATO has stated that it is in contact with Poland and says that it would take all necessary measures to defend NATO territory after a Russian missile crashed and exploded in Poland territory. The missile which entered Poland's airspace was part of a barrage of ballistic missiles and drones launched by Russia at Ukraine and NATO members including Poland launched F-16 jets in response to the sighting of the missile and the Secretary of NATO described the incident as quote yet another reckless act by Russia and a dangerous consequence of its war against Ukraine. Airspace violations of NATO member countries have been on the rise in recent months as Russia has ramped up attacks on Ukraine.Several Russian drones have crashed into Poland with some falling onto Polish territory but this latest crash marks the first known case involving a Russian missile and Polish authorities said they were investigating the matter but indicated that there was no reason to think that Poland was the intended target and Russia's foreign ministry did not respond immediately to a request for comment on this matter
