How is it Republicans have a majority in both Congress and the Senate and yet Trump STILL can't get the SAVE America Act to pass? It's almost like he's lost control of his party...

>t. doesn't know what congress is or how the Senate works
another high quality thread op keep it up
>>
>>539938110
oh no stinky!
>>
>>539938227
If Trump still had control over the Republican party like he used to, there wouldn't be nearly as many Republican holdouts and he'd have passed it months ago. The fact he can't now is truly telling.
>>
>>539938325
>doubles down on not knowing how the Senate works
>>
>>539938325
Ehen did he ever retard. Hes always been an outsider. You people were lied to by your educators
>>
>>539938556
>>539938541
He had genuine sway in his first term but no longer. Keep pretending otherwise though to save face.
>>
>>539938582
>triples down
ok ill spoonfeed you. you need 60 votes in the senate to pass controversial legislation because of the filibuster. hope this helps.
>>
>>539938667
And he would've had those votes if he still retained control over his party. You're not disproving my point, you're only emphasizing it.
>>
>>539938110
Because Republicans can't govern. And i don't mean in a snarky way. They don't understand how anything works or have any real priorities beyond Middle Eastern wars and rubber stamping budgets and tax cuts that explode the debt.
>>
>>539938110
It couldn't be more obvious that you are a low IQ brown who just migrated to America recently, but the Senate has a filibuster rule which means that a bare party majority doesn't get to decide votes. Bills have to get 60 votes to pass the Senate under the filibuster rule, and the Republicans don't have 50 seats in the Senate. I know, this is all too complicated for you. Just stick to mowing lawns, brown boy.
>>
>>539938852
If Trump wasn't a lame duck President he'd be able to bridge that gap but he can't
>>
>>539938706
so what you're saying is you not only didn't know how many votes are needed in the senate, you also didn't even bother even checking how many republicans are in the senate, and/or don't understand numbers. it's really great we have such intelligent, informed people creating high quality threads here.
>>
>>539938667
Funny how that is written nowhere in the constitution and they just made it up.
Weird how Washington was right about the 2 party system.
>>
>>539938929
See
>>539938911
If he had control over the party he wouldn't have Republican holdouts signaling to Democrats that they don't have to negotiate on this matter at all. Again, you're only emphasizing my point here.
>>
>>539938942
>not in the constitution
correct, it's a Senate rule that has been in effect for 200 years, and it's probably a good thing. it's a rare case of a legislature voluntarily limiting their own power.
>>
>>539939355
Went from advancing a nation to advancing self interest.
>But we're ceding power here!
Americans are retarded.
>>
>>539938110
He's not even halfway through his term and he's already a lame duck. LOL
>>
>>539940581
Never underestimate the republicans ability to suck jewish cock or the democrats ability to suck trannynigger cock.
>>
Both political parties have just sort of forgotten that they are supposed to work together to fix problems for the people as opposed to trying to exclusively pass things unilaterally to attempt to bludgeon the other side into submission.

There are a dozen different electoral reforms that could be pass with bipartisan support without much trouble, but they insist on focusing exclusively on inflammatory bullshit they not only know won't pass but do not even in fact WANT to pass because even they know this would be a national disaster. They just want to be able to talk about it for months going into the midterms so they can manufacture something to try and rally voters around.
>>
>>539938991
He has control over the party. They just don't have a legislative agenda, and are trying to compensate with a unitary President.
>>
>>539941428
They have a legislative agenda, they just can't make that front and center because the know that their shit is radioactive and even their own voters would likely eat them alive if they were paying attention to what was actually going on in Congress instead of just trusting fox News headlines as the complete picture.
Trump is an excellent face of the party for them because he keeps all of the attention focused on himself. Think about how close they were to merging the US and Israeli militaries without us even knowing about it until after the fact, and now consider how many other things they did actually pass under your radar.
>>
>>539941703
>Think about how close they were to merging the US and Israeli militaries without us even knowing about it until after the fact
The Republican base has loved Israel for about 25 years however.
>>
>>539941962
Not the under 50s
>>
>>539942067
The Republican party is the selfish boomer party. Under 50s are irrelevant.
>>
>>539938556
>Muh outsider
Doesn't matter. They only care about power. He's on his way out, half dead already, and there's no reason to work with his retarded plans
>>
>>539938325
>If Trump still had control over the Republican party like he used to
His first term was notable for how Republicans in Congress refused to work with him, you disingenuous faggot.
