Anyone else noticing the pandemic of adult men starting sentences with "I mean," talking like teenage girls? I think this is beating out over using "literally" and is more low IQ than that.

People would rather start a sentence with "Like, uhhhhh," or "I mean" or "So" than leave the pause in the conversation, both to make the conversation feel less awkward and to stake claim on the tempo so that someone else doesn't start a new topic or tangent while you still have something you want to say. It always sounds unintelligent when overused, but its harmless.
