I've seen 4 'professionals' (relatively high status and pay positions) go through drug-related full mental breakdowns (ending in the mental ward) before 30 in the last 2 years. And others are just teetering on the edge.I imagine much dysfunction is due to this sort of thing. It wasn't really this bad a decade ago, people would at least try to hide usage/moderate it. Feels as if any level of drug use/abuse is simply accepted as normal now.

Stealing from family members, doing petty shit to fund their habits. Same as everywhere else, they just have a culture of airing their laundry in private.
