Child morality and infanticide rose sharply in ww2, with many nuneries and hospitals forced to hide huge numbers is dead infants and dump them in wells, mines etc. And it's actually very easy to find these types of mass graves archologically, as far back as Greece. The children all tend to be the same age, rather then mixed ages like you would see with a plague. The bodies are all mixed because none were killed at the site they were buried, it was a dumping ground not a grave, the people who dumped them didn't know any of the children. And you also find a lack of traumatic injury, because the children were killed by women, not male soldiers. And you find the bodies dumped in an existing hole of some kind, because when the process begins it begins gradually so they don't know how many they will kill by the end. You also see serious calcium deficiencies as the mothers were badly malnourished.I know nothing about the holocaust. But a lot about archological digs
