Isn't it just kind of... evil, what we're doing? We attacked them under a really flimsy casus belli contradicted by our own intelligence services. We killed their leadership and their fucking children. Now, we want to start a campaign to destroy their civilian infrastructure?I'm having a really hard time with this lately. We've never been what we pretended to be in a general sense, but this makes us directly analogous to Russia -- it's basically everything it did to Ukraine, minus the ground invasion... for now, I guess? I just hate what we've become. I'm starting to see that it's probably what we've always been. Trump's actions are likely not anomalous in anything but their ineptitude and fundamental lack of shame. The world deserves better than America, Russia, or China. It deserves a real democracy.

The mindset is "American Exceptionalism", which is that all such rules and concerns don't apply to you, since USA is the top dog ruler of the world. Not committing war crimes and avoiding humanitarian disasters are only standards the opposition is supposed to be burdened with.
