Let's look at actions not words. Why have maternity wards? Why have swimming pools? Why have have a dental office? Why do multiple inmates get transfered from death camp to death camp? Why are only Russian discovered camps death camps? Why are there not enough crematoriums to dispose millions of bodies? Why do tattoos go up to 5 digits? Why were jews sent by Germany to Palestine? Why has every story jews claimed of torture and fantastical methods of death proven wrong? Why would wood doors be used on a gas chamber? Why would there be no mass grave sights found with underground scanning radar? Why did the total Jewish population grow?
People deny it mostly out of contrarianism, not because it serves any real purpose. Conspiracy theorists always need some grand scheme to be against, because this gives their otherwise meaningless lives some purpose. Thinking they hold some deep sacred knowledge that 99% of people are oblivious too uplifts them from just another nobody to an enlightened being that is miles ahead of all the "sheep" just because they know that 9/11 was an inside job or that vaccines are a secret government plot to cull the population. That is all that is to it, same with Holocaust denial - it makes them special in their own minds. Ironic thing about Holocaust is that even if they somehow do convince everyone that Nazis killed 500,000 people instead of 6,000,000 or whatever, this would still not make Nazi regime any less terrible, they have tons of crimes to answer for, and this revisionism is not going to make anybody view them favourably. But they hold on to it anyway because it gives their lives a meaning.
