You also see Arabs marrying into British families like the King of Jordan and Rupert Lowe's daughter in law and generally being more compatible culturally with Brits. A Brit can live on the same street as a Pakistani for 30 years and never say two words to him or know anything about him, but he would find some kind of common interest or hobby with an Arab on his street.Shouldn't it be the other way around if Brits were in India for hundreds of years influencing their culture? You'd think Indians and Pakis would easily slot into British life. But they are still seen as absolute aliens.

>>540060735That's actually something I noticed during my time in the UK. Heck, I felt closer to native British people than fellow muslims outside of MENA (whom I never considered muslim myself). I don't know why, but it largely comes down to us conforming to norms around us rather than enforcing our own. And even when we enforce our own, we mainly keep to ourselves and don't share unless someone wants to be involved.
