>Buy gun for another person
>That other person uses the gun to commit a crime
>Guy who bought the gun in the first place is held criminally responsible
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jul/30/colin-gray-sentencing-shooting-georgia

By this same logic, are we going to start holding recruiters criminally responsible if someone they helped to join the military commits a war crime? Should auto dealers be held responsible every time someone commits vehicular manslaughter with a car they bought from them? It's insane.
>>
>>540065983
the FBI made contact with the son for threats of shootings. this occurred prior to the father gifting the gun to his son. i don't feel any sympathy for the retard father.
>>
>>540065983
>It's insane
It's really not. Local feds and FBI were already talking to him regarding his online threats to shoot a school and the father still bought him a big fuck off gun kek
>>
>>540066345
>>540066524
It sets a terrible precedent that'll be used against all gun owners eventually. Bad idea to sell one of your firearms when it's already established you can be held criminally liable for whatever the purchases does with it.
>>
>>540066727
>don't give guns to mentally ill people who are threatening violence and have made contact with law enforcement for those threats
wow yeah what a terrible precedent.
>>
>>540065983
You guys are years late, already happened in michigan to the parents of a school shooter
>>
>>540066799
I'm not saying the father's in the right here, I'm saying the legal precedent being established will ultimately do more harm than good
>>
>>540065983
Guy = his 15 year old son who already threatened to kill people

Yes, we need more like this. Imagine the niggers you could jail
>>
>>540065983
I'd understand 2-5 years but 15 years is just fucking excessive, man. The fuck's the problem with Amerimutts and their insanely long sentencing guidelines?
>>
>>540066345
>>540066524
>>540066799
and why was he not arrested for these threats, shillkun? You can be arrested for saying le nigger word here so dont give me that first amendment shit
>>
>>540065983
Nah, if you haven't noticed, its a game of convenience.

What ever is convenient for the narrative is usually the way it goes.

Gun crimes wouldn't happen if guns didn't exist. Watch this line of thinking closely.
>>
>>540067161
irrelevant to what we're discussing, and was also deemed irrelevant to the trial as per the judge's instructions to jurors. can you stay on topic?
>>
>>540066799
So then to know if somebody is mentally sound enough to not be a danger they will have to have proof which will require yearly psych evaluations to prove and be able to own guns in first place. With the end of internet anonymity and internet ID your posts on the internet will deem you mentally ill to the authorities and unable to own any guns. This is the precedent that is being established
>>
>>540067364
history of mental illness is already a question on the NICS form.
>>
>>540067124
Justice system in America is 100% feelings based. White people are responsible for their sons crimes meanwhile black parents can have their kids join gangs and do all sorts of crime and never get in trouble for anything
>>
>>540065983
The only way a bad guy gets a gun is if a good guy lets him. Common sensee regulation should come from manufacturers. Instead the sell fear to a bunch of scared little faggots. Muh guns!
Fucking kek.
>>
Teenagers probably shouldn't have guns. When i was a teenager I got bullied a lot and if I had access to guns I would have shot all those kids for bullying me. And somehow I would be the bad guy and not the shitty kids who bullied me for 8 years or the teachers who ignored it or the parents who raised those monsters to abuse me all day every day.
>>
>>540065983
Why don't Americans just ban guns?
>>
>>540067488
Okay so then that is even worse, if the license claiming they are not mentally ill isn’t enough to protect you from liability if they still go out and kill somebody and are mentally ill then gun sales will simply stop due to the risk of sellers being responsible for everyone they sell to regardless of their license claiming they are mentally fine because that doesn’t matter anymore
>>
>>540065983
Parents should be held responsible for every crime commited by their children until they turn 18 desu. This would greatly reduce juvenile crime.
>>
>>540065983
Does this happen to black parents?
>>
>>540067730
>run on sentence
i have absolutely no idea what you're trying to argue.
>>
>>540066727
dude fuck your mewling rhis nigger gave his clearly emminently psychotic son a gun and this lead to people being killed
ice scumbags and their commanders should rot in jail too
>>
>>540067743
they already are, at least with respect to monetary damages (e.g., vandalization), but it's not really enforced by fat lazy pig nigger police and nigger faggot district attorneys.
>>
>>540067743
Why stop at 18?

If you commit a crime your entire family should be imprisoned. That would be a good incentive not to commit crimes.

uhm could it be that you left out the tiny detail that the person in question hat the parental duty to supervise because IT WAS HIS OWN CHILD?

Puritanism plus the pressure to be "tough on crime" to address the NQ by proxy

>>540065983
>I just raised this murderer, taught him everything he knows, and let him have a murder weapon all to himself to play with
shoulda given him the chair. People need to learn that if they're going to make inflict their children on the world they better goddamn well ensure they haven't raised a psycho.

How come nobody ever asks if they deserved it? In my opinion, shooting school bullies is a good thing. Obviously it's tragic and bad, but it does put fear into other kids who may think twice about bullying. Whenever I hear about a school shooting I always assume the bullies got what they deserved. Dead bullies with their brains splashed all over the classroom wall makes me feel a kind of cathartic glee. I think if I ever met any of my grade school bullies I would press my thumbs into their eyeballs until they die.

>feds: your son is threatening a mass shooting. Keep him away from guns
>dad: wtf you can't tell me what to do. I'll have you know the feds don't control my life and I live for liberty. I'll buy my son a concealment pistol and you won't do shit about it.
>son does a shooting
>dad is arrested
>dad: wtf I'm literally crying how can you arrest me this is tyranny
>>
When the columbine massacre happened. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Suddenly all my countless bullies stopped bullying me and apologized because they worried I would shoot them for what they did to me. And I should have. And I would have if I had guns as a teenager. Those kids would fucking die.

>kid's room is entirely barren except for the giant Nicholas Cruz mass shooter shrine on the wall
>police/FBI visit your house saying he's threatening to shoot up the school
>tells you he has homicidal/suicidal thoughts
>buy him a gun the following month

Colton's dad was a fucking moron and this was well-deserved.

Same thing applies to the Ethan Crumbley case from last year. When your child repeatedly tells you he is hearing schizo voices telling him to shoot people, he has a fascination with mass shooters, and is torturing animals, you don't buy him guns and ammo.

It's like giving a gun to the local crackhead who's always mumbling about wanting to kill people. It's beyond reckless, to the point that you absolutely should be held (at least partly) liable for the obvious consequences.

>Reddit tier grammar Ad hominem

I will simplify for you.

You said just don’t sell to the mentally ill.

I said okay well that sets a precedent for everyone being psychologically examined before selling of fire arms

You responded that they have checks for mental illness for when you get a license

I replied that those checks and licensing doesn’t matter if people can still get arrested for selling or gifting guns to people who then go on to commit crimes. This sets a precedent that all sales of guns regardless of licensing is a liability for the seller and thus would result in the termination of gun sales.

You kvetched with ad hominem attack because my grammar was bad and you had no rebuttal

You just don't understand. If you got bullied for 8 years, you would root for the school shooters too. I got the worst treatment imaginable. For year after year after year I was beat up and spit on and called slurs. And nobody ever lifted a finger to do anything about it as if it was some conspiracy to fuck me over for no fucking reason. You would grow to hate bullies too. You would also be incapable of forgiveness.
>>
>>540069068
>You would grow to hate bullies too. You would also be incapable of forgiveness.
Not necessarily. I was pretty ruthlessly bullied -- first at school, then in the army. Then, after a certain point... I realized I had become the bully myself. Understanding why bullying happens from the inside doesn't excuse the behavior, but it does help you forgive it.

We're all shaped by our environments, in one way or another. Once I made the connection between how bullying used to make me feel and how I made others feel when I bullied them was a paradigm shift for me, personally. I hate bullying more than I ever have, still, but I realized that I can hate the behavior without hating the person.

>Buy gun for another person
So the police chief or sheriff is liable for all the shootings the staff they supervise, when do they get charged, convicted, and imprisoned?
>>
>>540068182
It's not always the parents fault if a kid is severely mentally ill. A lot of psychos are also good at hiding what they are.

Yikes...
