Back in mid 2022 after the fall of Severodonetsk and Lyschansk, people concluded Russia was gonna try to take Donbas by the end of the year. So the terms “Little Fortress Belt” (Bakhmut-Soledar-Siversk) and “Big Fortress Belt” (Konstanyvnika-Kramatorsk-Slovyansk) being coined for Russia’s objectives for the rest of 2022.

It took them longer than planned, but with the fall of Siversk Russia captured the entire little Fortress belt. (Soledar and Bakhmut fell in 2023, Siversk held up for a while)

In between that and the big one is Chasiv Yar in the south and the Donets Canal in Center and north, both of which need securing. Russia JUST took Chasiv Yar and is about halfway through securing the canal.

They were obvious faggots can got snitched on to SBU when they went to rent offices and apartments in the center of the city (close to the government district). I personally know a guy whom declined renting to them and went to snitch to SBU lmao. SBU was surveilling them all the way until they decided to move out. All of those retards got shot the moment they tried to move out.

Because they don't know this, obviously. But whether someone is "believable" or not is distinct from the truth or falsity of what they say.
>That is what eludes me, how fucking dumb people seemingly are.
Most people don't follow the Ukraine war like shut-in, geopolitics obsessed, NEET autists. They have other things they follow. You're very dumb when it comes to those other things, just as they are dumb when it comes to the thing you know well. It's how it works. Everyone is an expert in a few things, an idiot in everything else, and doesn't realize it because they think knowing a lot about a few things means they know a lot about everything. Socrates noticed this 2500 years ago.

Trust me, shock therapy is 9 times out of 10 better than trying to drag it out. One of the reasons why economy here is shit is because the local politicians were scared to do economic shock therapy, unlike in Poland and russia. This is replacing a ton of future results with just a tiny bit of comfy shit right here and now.

Are Ukrainians finally rising up?

>>540076891
>>
>>540093178
Among other things. I know that even in Ukraine we had a fuck ton of retards in Donbas working as miners due to retarded "hurr-durr the only job for a real man" type of soviet culture, even when the income collapsed and more than half of mines lost profitability, having being propped up the state for decades to avoid social issues. This basically not only caused retards living on de-facto welfare, siphoning funds from the productive sectors of the economy, but also would limit the availability of workforce for other sectors in the region. It was a lose-lose thing, stretched out due to populism.

Context: in USSR miners would often get paid 5x the typical good salary, due to most miners dying a painful death by mid 40s from silicosis - look up this shit, so the miners thought of themselves as kings of the world.

Mining, steel milling, shipwrights. Joblessness was well into the millions, almost all of it hit the north of england, combined with adjusting taxation on property such that everyone paid the same amount regardless of means meant that the entire upper half of the country sunk into an economic depression that much of it has never recovered from.
There were other things, selling off everything the government owned has been a blatant failure. Community spaces vanished. Social housing dried up but because it was sold cheap it caused a ridiculous property price inflation that the government still can't put a lid on 40 years later. Water quality has dipped to catastrophic levels under the watch of private corporations, trains have never been more useless, gas prices are a constant war between government and private.
She detroit-ed us, to be simple, and I intend to take a shit on her grave one day.

You don't enjoy the sewage in the rivers and the high electricity bills that subsidise the french?
>>
>>540093924
Lmao, my favourite part of our high electricity bills is the fact we STILL pay wind plants specifically to not generate power on windy days lest they overwhelm the grid. I can't imagine the level of griping that people, especially the right, would do if that was more direct waste, but because it's lining some billionaire cunt's pockets they look the other way.

>She detroit-ed us, to be simple, and I intend to take a shit on her grave one day.
This is actually a counterpoint to what you're trying to say. Detroit wasn't fucked by the automakers getting fucked, it was fucked for decades before that due to retarded policies, which in turn had the automakers slowly escape. People generally incorrectly view the issues of Detroit and its downfall due to people wanting simple answers and because it's easy to point at automakers.

From what I know, the issue wasn't just coal, but coal was pretty much the best example. UK was spending like 1.5 billion pounds (the 1980s pounds, not the modern shit) per year to prop up the mining industry, and that was on top of the losses which the industry couldn't cover itself. Basically it was a typical soviet shitfest of: you have effective/profitable agents, average break even agents and ineffective/loss generating agents, the effective ones basically don't generate value for the economy because their profits are siphoned into propping up the ineffective ones, but it's not enough, so the state moves in a covers the rest with subsidies. So not only there are direct subsidies but the indirect cost is even more. That's even before you take into account people basically doing bullshit jobs and not being part of productive economy, which also creates a cost on the economy overall.

The real source of all the fuckedness was the mass nationalization which the labor government did post-WW2. The economy needed painful reforms back then, instead the closeted commies played around with feel good shit which didn't work and just fucked everything up more and more over time. Companies which made shit in an inefficient manner (including but not limited to shit quality and bad workmanship) continued to receive financial support for political/social reasons, instead of having to face changes in a market environment. That's how things become worse over time.

IIRC, at some point UK government had a fuck ton of shit either directly nationalized or just subsidized. Coal, steel, rail, automakers (Leyland anyone? no?), etc. To the point that by 1970s inflation was like 20% kek. And while at least some industries could at least theoretically get better (at least if they weren't managed by retards), coal was fucked many decades already by that point due to people starting to move away from it like at the start of the 20th century already. Back then coal was used for: railways, steel production, electricity generation, home heating and it even was exported. So it wasn't just one issue for coal, but it got triple penetrated:
- easy deposits are fucked, have to spend way more to extract shit in harder deposits (very know to Ukraine, look up the depths of some of the Donbas mine shafts lmao);
- costs increasing due to people being paid way more than back in the day;
- 2/3 of the market for the product went "poof", with people moving to oil and such;

A failing industry does not excuse cutting millions out of jobs. It would've been entirely within her remit to phase coal out, as it was already being done, instead she deliberately wanted to destroy trade unions at their core because worker rights were her true enemy.
I don't doubt coal was uneconomical, I sincerely doubt the best was response was to weaponise it for a near civil war. In communities that were entirely built around coal mining and the pay thereof, of which there many, her actions essentially destroyed entire villages in one go. I don't think the people relying on such a shitty industry were smart or even right, to be clear, but her approach deliberately and directly caused mass unemployment and wealth inequality for the intended purpose of concentrating power in Westminster.

The problem was the government intervention had been going on so long it was endemic.
It had to be dealt with but it should have been phased, it should have had backstops and protections, retraining, alternative employment for the affected areas etc.

Margaret Thatcher left office around 36 years ago.

I discovered Reddit about ten years ago, and some time since then I had an argument with some leftist twat there whose father had "lost his job due to Thatcher" and never found work again. You'd think that in 26+ years he could have at least been a DoorDash delivery driver or maybe gotten a janitorial job, but fuck no, he was a coal miner and was going to mine coal or sit on his ass, nothing else.

>It had to be dealt with but it should have been phased,
No. That's completely untrue.
You can't do "phased" interventions in a democratic system because the next government would always intervene to stop it just to get votes, because any economically beneficial interventions are unpopular simply because the common folk prefer to vote money for themselves out of the budget. All of them are simply too stupid and short-sighted to understand that consequences of their chosen policy.
The ONLY way to do it in a democracy is quick and painful.
Only in a dictatorship can you take your time as the dictator to go through the process in phases.
>>
>>540094863
The biggest issue is that it was done so late. By 1960s it was obvious that crap was fucked, but you got 20 more years of the shitfest. That's like USSR trying to reform economy in the mid 1980s, while it was obvious that reforms were need by 1960s already, but even basic bitch reforms of the 1965 caused butthurt and the party becoming afraid of losing control kek.

The automotive industry's problem was shit-tier union labor. The unions dug themselves in like ticks back in the 1950s when European industry had been bombed back to the Stone Age, and the unions negotiated ridiculously overpaid contracts where workers got vast amounts of money to do practically nothing all day, while the contracts also made it impossible to fire anyone no matter how big of a drunk they were, or how violent they were toward coworkers, or how fucking lazy they were.

People got tired of getting Soviet-quality automobiles from Detroit when they could pay $10,000 less and get a high-quality vehicle from Toyota or Datsun. Thus the American car industry, and the UAW, stagnated. The industry moved jobs to Canada and Mexico where the unions couldn't fuck things up as badly. The UAW contracts are still in force -- auto industry can't get rid of them -- but the number of people covered by those is now a fraction of what it once was and is shrinking steadily.

I could go on, but that's the core of it. It only relates to politics inasmuch as the Democraps enabled the unions with the NLRB and similar fuckery.

I'm not disputing this, but it was 50% of the issue at best. The local city government played populism too much, including with niggers and such, normal people and skilled workers slowly started getting the fuck out of there due to retarded socio-economic policies even before the automakers threw in the towel. It's like one thing (policies) caused another (automakers getting fucked), and in the end you got a turbo-cocktail of shit as a result.

You're too stupid to be having this discussion and that's all there is to it. Grow up, recognize your weaknesses and stop trying to pretend like they aren't there right in your body and ego.
> but it will take hours to hash it out and it's time to go to sleep.
You'd take hours to explain basic context and situations?
Come on now. This joke of an explanation outright shows you have no fucking idea of what you're talking about. Like a child trying to talk about being an adult; a virgin talking about having sex. You're too out of it to even understand the basic norms that everyone else takes for granted. It would take one single post to flesh out the basic arguments against what I posited earlier.
The fact you claim it would take hours purely shows you don't have the faintest fucking idea of what it takes to actually do so, meaning you're completely detached from this realm of discussion.

>That doesn't give you a licence to start chatting shit unless you're going to post your address so I can come and snap your jaw.

UK has been on the ropes since the end of the Stirling area and largely using the Marshall Plan money to maintain empire instead of revamping industry like Germany, Italy, France. Except Eden fucked up any possible large scale benefit of that with Suez, except some lingering and moderately useful Saudi and Emirate links.
It was recoverable even after Thatcher, but she definitely sold out a lot of the competitive advantage and leverage had for sheer fucking principal.
The GFC and Brexit sank it, and retrospectively the UK since 1945 is looking like Japan since the early 90s, just in slower motion. Just keeping the music going in the hopes that staying in the game would cause a solution to appear. Its either post-war Austerity 2.0 or Argentina next.
Unless you're in the city and banking other people's money or doing research as an offshoot of Oxbridge, it's time to leave her johnny, leave her.

Look you don't make a lick of sense.
>He will use it as an excuse
Putin needs an excuse since when? Russia takes actions on whatever they decide is in their national interest first and "excuses" are grafted over decisions already made.
We crossed field of "russian red lines", nothing happened. We captured their ships, gave tanks to Ukraine. They whine, they threaten, then we do it and they shut the fuck up.
Insisting on Russia being a civilized state like European powers is the mistake that causes suffering and loss of life. It is a savage kleptocracy and understands violence. We didn't chose that set of rules, would rather not play that game, but this is the game being played and insisting on playing another will cause the death of good people.

I'd love for NATO to pile in and steamroll Russia but that's just not going to happen because nukes.
It would also be stealing Ukraine's thunder who have bled and suffered to get here. They deserve the victory.
I don't believe there is any chance whatsoever Putin wants a war with NATO.
He's rattling the can and seeing what falls out. He is between a rock and a hard place. Ukraine and his own people.
Getting a reaction from NATO gets him off the hook at home.
The Russia people definitely don't want a war with NATO.
Putin is a psycho but he isn't that stupid.

There have been more refineries hit too.
The pounding is becoming normalised so there’s not as much excited reporting of it but as more strikes happen the % of Russian refining capacity taken offline grows rapidly.
They of course try to fix what they can but Ukraine aren’t striking wildly they know just which parts to strike to maximise the consequences.
Russia has also had time to try to offset some of the loss in capability by importing refined “benzine” (lol, importing, that makes me giggle) but bear in mind that for example their main lifeline the lowly scamming verminous poojeet has exactly
>zero
zero pipelines connecting their garbage heap to mutha rasher and can only AT BEST ever supply up to the equivalent of 1.6% of russian consumption.
They have a few other ‘partners’ like the Borats who will likewise offer either a quick brief sake of stockpiled benzine (which will briefly take the squeeze off for a week or two by a few percent of consumption) and/or a drip feed of probably less than a single percent of overall consumption needs.
Stockpiles can only be purchased once. Then they are gone. Sanctions mean that the number of dealers Russia can hit up for a fix are very limited.

>what a brilliant general he was
He was a meat waves type of butcher who buried the germans under the bodies of soviet soldiers. He famously said "(who cares about the losses?) broads will birth more" among other things. Most of his operations were retarded and caused a fuck ton of unnecessary losses either because he didn't give a shit, due to political reasons or just because he despised soldiers overall. During the forcing of the Dnipro river he sent a fuck ton of people basically to their grave because the forces weren't covered by allied fire and people didn't have enough equipment to traverse the river (especially under enemy fire), but his logic was "who cares? the more drown - the less we'll later need to send to the gulag" and such. All of the "positive" sides of Zhukov is post-WW2 soviet propaganda.

>Beria OTOH was just plain scum

Nah, the long-term idea of russians is to undermine the credibility of NATO and thus cause it to de-facto collapse, which would allow russia to muscle in the neighbors.

>the biggest friend we have is Monkey. The media screeches a lot and the truth is surprising but RUSSIA CANNOT POSSIBLY WIN A WAR OF ATTRITION.
I know that you must hear the opposite said a lot, even from the mouths of Ukrainians but it’s disinformation.
The only field in which Ukraine DOESN’T mogg the hell out of Russia’s production rates (UKRAINE MOGGS BECAUSE OF UKRAINES FIRM ALLIANCES) is in the field of production of Mk.1 Scuttling Igors. Manpower is the only metric in which Russia moggs back… and this is why bless his little built up slippers our BFF is Gollum himself. Because Putin is killing everyone. His soviet style strategy and tactics, his Hitlerian personal micromanaging of the front lines is maximising the Russian casualty figures.
& This is WHY it’s Ukraines goal to kill as many Russians as possible.
>14:1
Zelensky's figures put this ratio on orc to human casualties, whether it’s entirely accurate or not (and it must be somewhat correct or different events would be playing out) its good enough.
We can take hope & cope in two possible futures
Scenario A) the oligarchy say “nyet” and Rasputin the Putin and end the war. He is mad, he’s destroying Russia, killing them all and putting his stollen trillion dollars to use trying to find ways to become immortal and never die. That’s crazy. Norks put up with crazy. Chinky Winkies cuck hard to crazy but the Russian mafia might prefer Russia not collapsing, nork & chingchong crazy regimes AVOID war, Putin has created war and is shit at it.
B) They do NOT Rasputin the Putin. This is good too. After the fake elections Putin conscripts all the remaining Russians and Putin being Putin they come on in the same old way without benzine (it is currently rationed to the military now, even on the front line), without training (the pro army is 100% dead) and without much kit (they had to buy it out if contract money from inventory retailers). They’ll die charging drone swarms in rural nowheres.
