But my point is that people aren't cultivating even the basic effort to keep an eye on caramelizing onions for an hour. If you're cooking for yourself, you can get conditioned to dismiss the time it takes to wipe dishes/bring a burner to heat/etc. as a waste because everyone else at your job is walking to the Panda Express next door during lunch break instead.I know what a problem it is and I still need to force myself to cook because my hole in the wall apartment has a mini fridge and so I can't just pack away five different meals after spending a day cooking-there just isn't the space.
