I know the war is coming because India is set to manufacture Japanese ships now.

>>
>>540124781

I'm not sure you could do much about it but make it worse for you by going kinetic. Besides, i don't think they're blockading or taking Taiwan any time soon. The panican 2027 date presented by the US army is just wrong.
Realistically, what you would do if they take Taiwan is use the Luzon and Miyako straits.

Terribly ill prepared and up for bad surprises if they go that way. Japan's best interest is to leave this kind of things to the US. They can reroute their trade through the Luzon and Miyako straits and the semiconductor over reliance on Taiwan is currently being mitigated by both the US and Japan.

>>540124781

>>
>>540125268
Since the day Tchang Kaï-chek crossed the strait and seceded Taiwan from the mainland, it was evident that they would never leave behind the project of reunification. It doesn't mean doom for Japan either.
I think your best interest is in being a Singapore that doesn't get itself entangled in the battles between the two giants while giving both sides good reasons to stay in good terms with it. I think Sanae Takaichi is doing the opposite of that.
>>
>>540125268
Isn't that what you said? If China invades Taiwan, Japan would have to fight to protect the strait? I'm not asking if Japan would start the war (that obviously won't happen). Just if the Japanese would really fight in case of an invasion.
India kept to Indian Ocean and was not really involved in the SCS matter until recently. But now we could be supplying weapons to Japan in the above scenario. That could trigger a Chinese response on India, which is what worries me.
India would definitely fight if China attacked us though.

there are a number of countries sitting in wait to have a reason to carve up china.
india is one of those, considering the border conflicts in kashmir, and china directly supporting the pakistan military.
>>
>>540125592
You don't have to tell me that. I already know. But I think India would not act until China is weakened by fighting in the SCS, because Pakistan would also get involved if we act early.
>>
>>540122378
Nexperia
>>
>>540125580
I don't think your country will get directly or indirectly involved and if it does (indirectly), the logical follow up by China wouldn't be to declare war on you but to flood Pakistan with advanced weaponry and integrating it with it's Joint All-Domain Command and Control.
I'm no fan of Modi but i think he's smarter than burn his country at the stake of geopolitical battles that only harm India. He will almost certainly pass.
>>
>>540125846
I'm certain we would not get pre-emptively involved no matter who the PM is.
I can't say what China will do though. We don't know if they would attack ship manufacturing hubs or not (even if through terrorist attacks via Pakistan).

As she said, I can only say that it depends on the situation.

I think neither the US nor Japan would do anything, though.

the biggest problem china has is that its hardware was kind of humiliated in venezuela and iran. chinese gear just didn't do the job it was supposed to.
i think maybe an f-35 was hit by a manpad, but managed to return. some helicopters and a transport plane were destroyed on purpose.
china kind of needs to up their game if they want any kind of credible military deterence.

Except that most of it was intox from Twitter. Venezuela's Chinese gear and especially anti air weaponry is very outdated compared to what they field in the mainland and nearly all the rumors about Iran were fabrications and speculations.
The most notorious of which being that Iran supposedly received HQ-9B SAMs through caravans of cargo planes coming from China. Everything stemmed from the rumor of 9 cargo planes going toward Iran and shutting down their transponders. Visual or satellite evidence refutes that and the US Centcom stated that no such airlift happened. Then, on the basis of this flawed observation, people speculated what could these planes contain and most concluded it'd be HQ-9B SAMs and YJ-21 cruise missiles simply because these are the scariest possibilities. The speculation was then presented and fact and became viral. So it's a groundless speculation built on top of another refuted speculation.

Another rumor that went viral is that of a chinese sea exploration ship closing on the western side of the indian ocean and giving Iranians targeting for their missiles with outdated/fake screenshots of maritime traffic presenting it in the western indian ocean when it was at the time near Shanghai. And in general, the amount of intox in this Iran war has vastly superseded whatever we were fed in the gulf war and Iraq war combined.

PS: I'm a Moroccan, not a Chinese with VPN, but i go autistic about such geopolitical events at their start out of interest.

Not long ago the Dutch government tried a hostile takeover from a Chinese-owned company (Nexperia), claiming it was for "national security reasons".
China then banned the selling of rare earth (which would completely cripple the company), and the Dutch prime minister had to send an envoy to apologise in person to Xin and promise never to do that again.
It was quite a week.
>>
>>540132579
The funny thing about the Nexperia story is that it ended with a split of the company where the Chinese subsidiary essentially seized itself and that's where most assets, physical belongings and the actual manufacturing happens. In addition to that, there's a mass exodus of customers away from the European branch toward the Chinese branch. Non contempt with just that, the Chinese have also started an international arbitration at the tribunal of commerce with a valuation of the reparations to be paid at 8 billion.

The Netherlands effectively killed the European branch of Nexperia and still don't understand why.

Lol. Lmao even. They have a few facilities in the US handling parts that could easily be re-sourced elsewhere, and most of it goes into the older series of machines. The real cutting edge research for their latest generations of EUV machines is all done in the Netherlands; the assembly is all done in the Netherlands; boxing for transport and on-site reassembly is all handled in the Netherlands. The critical lens and laser assemblies are all sourced from European firms.

The only thing the US has to waive with is a few patents on the tin-droplet EUV radiation harnassing process.
Patents WHICH HAVE EXPIRED. Back in iirc 2022.
>>
>>540133907
eh if china shows weakness they'd quickly find a lot of their previously resolved disputes not so resolved.
>>
>>540132579
It wasn't actually a hostile takeover. They suspended the board's authority and placed the company under court supervision by the Amsterdam chambers of commerce, pending an investigation into illegal conduct of the CEO. The company itself was still owned by its actual owners - which actually is largely this Chinese-national CEO; and by proxy the Chinese state - but they lost executive control.

The CEO actually was found guilty of charges, and not allowed to be reinstated; and that's where the shitshow started, because he ran home crying to complain to daddy Xi that he was being bullied.

The charges were also not brought by the Dutch government, but by other high-ranking members in the company's organisational structure who had figured out how their CEO was slyly sucking the Dutch branch of Nexperia dry and transferring everything it had to China, to his own mother-company Wingtech. When he knew that they knew, and started to try to evict them from the company before they could become 'problematic' about it - is when the ball started rolling and they brought things to court.

The temporary suspension of the board by the Dutch government, who were investigating the CEO for basically the same claims, just happened to align with that. Which caused a double whammy of him being housted from enacting control over the company hanging his own court case.
