Do you think Elon secretly knows that no one is ever going to colonize Mars because it's virtually impossible and just dangles it like a carrot on a stick to drive SpaceX investment?
>>540154879Elon is a true believer in Mars colonization. It's the only thing he's cared about for his entire life.
>>540154879Elon knows, he treats you like idiots btw. He has contempt for the people that worship him because they are so stupid.
>>540154879When you think about it realistically, it's so far away, man...>an extreme physical and psychological barrier. Our moon can be seen with the naked eye, without any observation tools, it has been with us since forever, and Mars, Maaarrs.A bit like a journey into the void.
>>540154879He knows. And he also knows people giving him money are stupid
>>540154949Elon, you fucking sperg. Is it true you and your senpai got baptized in a Christian church out in Wa. Back a few months ago? Scared your Faustian bargain is expiring?23 years since you closed on PayPal. Tic-tock @S8N.
>>540155404
>>540154879It's possible just not feasibly like what people imagine.
>>540154879yes
It's only inevitable that people will colonize space, I just think we're going to go through a very rough bad times first before we do any serious colonization effortsAfter all, there was a 1000+ year gap between the fall of Rome and Columbus making the journey to the New World
>>540155354All people that give money to other people are stupid. Elon's dimps are not any more stupid than any jew simp.
>>540154879elooooon is involved many scams
>https://comptroller.texas.gov/taxes/franchise/account-status/searchwhat are you doing eloooooon?>lol
>>540155272and who the fuck wants to live on Mars anyway? it would be like living inside a Submarine but forever.you breathe recycled farts, you drink recycled piss, you eat some sort of GMO crop grown in a greenhouse.radiation prevents you from ever going outside and Mars has no magnetic field so terraforming it is impossible.communication with earth is also slow and laggy and there is really nothing to do on Mars.
>>540156078>and who the fuck wants to live on Mars anyway?People like you said the same thing about taking a boat to the Americas and settling on what was essentially wild lands with the occasional native american tribe
>>540156078Physicist Richard Feynman gave a lecture about the possibility of sending a ship, crew and on board lab to Mars and back to Earth. He couldn't get past just the calculations for fuel, Turns out the more fuel you need, the bigger you have to make the ship, which means you have to accommodate even more fuel, which means an even larger ship, etc.I think they filmed it and put it on Youtube.
>>540156312you cant really compare Mars to the Americas tho. >>540156482also you can collect all the the data and do the experiments with remote controlled drones and soon self controlled AI drones.there is zero need to send anyone to Mars.
>>540156482Ok? So build a space station and make them launch from an L2 Lagrange Point
Maybe in 2000 years but not in anyones lifetime rn
>>540156648I think we can see something in the next hundred or so years, I think in 500 years we'll be making our first steps in legitimate interstellar colonization
basically space colonization only makes sense if you have the means to go to some earth like planet and colonize that.if mars was like a pristine earth then yes going to mars would be absolutely neccessary and super important.but its a shitty dead planet/desert with nothing on it so why bother.
>>540156693we could already do it today and go to other star systems, whats really holding back humanity is that science was turned into a religion and is just overall build on a shoddy foundation and the philosophy just isnt there for it.
>>540154879>>540154949is it safe to colonise mars they should first crash that moon into mars that's supposedly is going to crash in 0k years from now. Also who in there right mind would even go to start a colony. Life would be increibly depressing and boring. and hard
>>540156702You can mine stuff out of Mars and build space stations and eventually teraform it>>540156743What's holding us back is feminism and this retarded notion of equality when we need to focus more on freedom and stability
>>540156779I would rather be alone or at least with a surrogate child or two on Mars or Titan than risk being on Earth with the way things are going
>>540154879why doesnt he colonize antarctica first?
>>540156787>You can mine stuff out of Marsthis shit is worthless because we cant bring it back cheap and fast enough and all the materials we need we can dig out on earth just fine.>and eventually teraform ityou cant teraform it because it has no magnetic field.>What's holding us back is feminism and this retarded notion of equalityits not only that tho
>>540156617>you cant really compare Mars to the Americas tho.Who wants to go to the Americas? You'd need to spend months on unreliable small boat with a hundred other people eating nothing but rotten salted pork all while hoping the wind keeps blowing and there are no harsh storms. Even if you survive the trip there's no infrastructure and the whole content is swarming with cannibalistic barbarians. I hear that entire colonies have been attempted, like Roanoke, where every single person just disappeared without a trace. It's a physically impossible challenge.
>>540156852>you cant teraform it because it has no magnetic field.NASA proposed putting a satellite with an electromagnet at Mars' L1, turns out the problem isn't "How to replicate Earth's Magnetic Field from it's core" it's "How to create a magnetosphere.", it's literally a million times easier to create the magnetic field in space where it's needed than build a massive one from the surface that reaches space.
Of course, these boasts of great endeavors get attention and funding from all kinds of places...its all about money...
>>540154879Yes he's a piece of shit. Maybe the worst of them all.
>>540156870thats like comparing apples with oranges anon.>>540157016this is impossible and another NASA pipedream build on dumb ideas. the universe doesnt work like that and you cant create a magnetic field for mars.we cant even fix the earths declining magnetic field.
>>540157235I'm sorry that you failed elementary science and math but you shouldn't make it everyone else's problem.
>>540157345not an argument.
>>540154879>>540155272>>540156078You arent going to be terraforming mars retards robots are. They don't have DNA to radiate away and are incapable of antisemitism.
>>540156830Everything seems so easy for Musk to bloviate about, as long as it is covered by government contracts with the taxpayers paying the bill.
>>540157869>robots arehow would robots do that?robots cant give a planet a magnetic field.nobody even knows how magnetic fields work for planets, its not an internal dynamo you can easily fix.
>>540156312dick eating faggot
>>540154879>Do you think Elon secretly knows that no one is ever going to colonize Mars because it's virtually impossible and just dangles it like a carrot on a stick to drive SpaceX investment?yes, why stop the gibs. He's the biggest welfare queen there is.
>>540156482That video is AI bullshit. He died in 1988 and never ever actually said or wrote any of it.Gonna be hard getting to Mars with the level of retardation in the current year.
Some places on Earth are more inhospitable than Mars with similar temperature and lack of resources hazards. Except here you have to worry about pirates raiding you in the same spot or catching some disease. We just have to convince the lobby structure that there is a great data center opportunity on Mars, and there is a lot of oil, and there is great promised land real estate, and imagine the golf course possibilities, and George Washington would want the US to colonize Mars.
>>540156621the moon, retard. the moon is earths hub for interplanetary travel. low deltav, you can even use a mass driver for launch. enough water to make h2/lox chemical fuel as well
>>540154879That's not how the mind of an investor works. They're all jews and boomers. These joomers want to see returns on their investment in the form of profit not a better future for humanity. The whole Mars thing was to get the plebs onboard.
>>540154879First we need to learn how to terraform a desert
They're trying to colonize Mars so they can fuck off and then pull the ladder up behind them. Leaving any non-successful white fighting amongst the horde of browns. While they watch as entertainment.
>>540159161Nowhere on the surface of Earth is more inhospitable than Mars. It's almost unbelievable that someone could take Earth's oxygen, atmospheric pressure, and gravity for granted like you just did.
Nothing on Mars worth travelling for. You may as well attempt to homestead Death Valley. We are piss poor at utilizing and exploiting the amazing abundance of resources on our own glorious planet, a bunch of sloppy, wasteful monkeys with no appreciation.
>>540159190Is that you Isaac Arthur? But yes you are correct the moon is the best play. It is the gas station and the space port for humanity. Launching with what amounts to a maglev train, a mass driver, is too good to pass up.
>>540159316You have to forgive him, he gets all his science from Star Trek episodes.
>>540156870A fucking leaf...What is there to eat on mars?To drink?Resources?
>>540154879Why do you think it's impossible?
>>540159318People in Death Valley don't need an environmental suit to survive 5 minutes outside. A better example would be the sea floor and guess what no one is colonizing that. If Elon was serious about Mars he'd be building underwater structures along with Starship.
>>540159190Yeah, I always thought the same. The fact that there is never a discussion about building a permanent station on the moon as a learning experience is rather interesting. Are they incompetent or grifting?
>>540154949>imagine being this retarded
>>540156312Holy fuck you’re a faggot.
>>540159621Not that anon but grifting. The moon is close enough you could remote control construction equipment and not have to send as many people to build stuff. Gee, I need wonder what the Chinese are planning with all that remote construction equipment they have been showing online.
>>540159400Our biology can’t handle it. The loss of Earth’s gravity for long enough will literally kill you
>>540154879he does that with hyperloop and the boring company alreadycounter competing investment hype
>>540158375Im not saying its not retarded im saying if it happens youre not gonna be doing it robots are. Sending lots of humans to Mars when Fable-5 is a thing is pretty stupid(But realistically, you want multiple models specialized for different things instead of an insanely heavy huge model). And back home by blessing of the internet you can continually update the models on a 8-22 minute timer depending on orbit.Far as magnetic field goes, NASA says they can do magnetic dipole satelites at L1 between Mars and the Sun. Oooga booga: solar winds need to be deflected so mars can build up an atmosphere, magnet satelites do magnetic field stuff. Once you have solar winds out of the way you can get to building an atmosphere and there are a thousand things proposed for that.Anyway why is Mars needed? It's not resource rich(at least moon has helium-3). Living space is not an issue humanity haven't even done underwater cities(which can be done). The value in Mars is(in my opinion) 1- The fact that its gravity is 0.38g and its 15% closer to Jupiter, Callisto, Europa. You need 1/5th the fuel to escape terminal velocity and reach these 3 bad boys. 2- Humanity becomes multi-planetary.
>>540156870Salted pork?
>>540160348>if it happens youre not gonna be doing it robots areI already said this tho see >>540156617>NASA says they can do magnetic dipole satelites at L1 between Mars and the Sunthis doesnt give Mars its magnetic field back, the magnetic field has to do with the electric current that powers the planet (you need a current to have a magnetic field).so if NASA doesnt even understand these basics they have zero chance of fixing the magnetic field of mars.
>>540154879Its possible as a station kind of like the ISS. But it will be incredibly expensive and a pain in the ass. I doubt anyone going will be able to return so it’s a one way ticket. Makes more sense putting bases on the moon.
>>540160560The planet does not need a field as much if you csm block the be from sun with a big ASD magnet in space in between mars and the sun.Think of it like a magnetic umbrella protecting the planet from solar rain, sorry for the terrible metaphor
>>540160560You can't turn Mars' liquid core back on and therefore it's impossible to 'give it' a magnetic field that was never in the cards. You can instead deflect solar winds by placing a 'magnetic field' at L1. The other problems caused by not having a magnetic field can be more easily managed. But once you block solar winds(the core value of magnetic fields) you can build up an atmosphere and make Mars far more habitable.
>>540161082*if you can block*the bs from the sun*with a big ass magnetSorry for all the typo. You could also use many smaller magnets. You could even use the sun to rotate a material up to a percentage of the speed of light and that could be used used to generat the field.See prof kippinghttps://arxiv.org/abs/2507.17615This paper I think only deals with using such a hypothetical device as a way to launch a small probe but it could also be used to generate magnetic fields.
>>540154879elon is just a big nerd with money. he read Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson about terra forming mars.
