There are some people that are smart, like Ray McGovern, that you wouldn't know necessarily that they're going to be 87 soon. But that's likely an outlier and whatever cognitive decline he's suffered it's not mattered in the sense that he can still give good analysis of situations.I think the problem is that certain people, like Biden have been pushed where he was just mumbling nonsense and it was clear that he'd lost his marbles. And we saw guys like Mitch McConnell have some kind of stroke (or something like it) while they were being interviewed. There's no resignation. That to me seems like the issue. That they (or the people controlling them) don't bother to find a replacement for the next term and so on. They're basically dragging out people who obviously have one foot in the grave and aren't even there mentally.
