Soldiers in the Chinese People's Liberation Army are generally not allowed to go home during their regular two-year military service. Conscripts (recruits) are subject to an extremely strict ban on leave in order to maintain operational readiness and political discipline.

I only ever buy AMD because NVIDIA sold me 4 (FOUR) defective GPUs in a row.
I know there's also a Chinese GPU company, but they are still in relatively early stages, I don't think they can generate anime girls in one piece swimsuits very quickly.

The newest huawei gpu is 3 times faster than the nvidia h20 and has the highest interconnect speed worldwide (important for stacking GPUs). Deepseek is receiving them right now. Even if chinese companies had access to all nvidia gpus, it is now economicaly more viable to buy lots of huawei gpus for AI. So in regards to limiting chinas compute, the US already lost. We will probably see an open chinese model beeing the absolute best frontier model somewhere this year and next year china might start exporting their best GPUs. Once this happens the whole bubble will collapse, since investors bought in in the hope of US companies having a complete monopol and extracting infinite rent.
