what does "affordability crisis" mean in terms of real examples of things you can't afford?
>>540173824It's a fancy way of saying economic depression

>>540173824young anons need to pay special attention to insurancein less than a decade auto insurance alone has DOUBLEDwhen will it stop?it won't until you tell this industry to fuck offI'm almost ready to just take the ticket to go to court and tell the judge throw me in jail as a wagie who obeys all laws, works hard, and is sick of every cent getting sucked up by foreign interests to pay for these motherfuckers who never shoulda been here to cause so much trouble in the first god damn place! THROW ME IN JAIL SIR!! Bet'cha my overcrowded niggerpen would let me out in a few hours.Fuck it. If enough people waste the judge's time some shit will eventually get done.
>>540175265It's even more disgusting when you delve into why the cost of auto insurance has skyrocketed. It's all litigation related. They're settling claims instead of taking them court to get the correct and rightful judgments and every scammer is taking them to the cleaners over hourly legal costs.
>>540175265Your diagnosis of the problem is correct, but you solution is wrong. Getting yourself thrown in jail isn't going to do anything other than giving you a rap sheet. The problem is that so many states legally require you to have auto insurance. The rates are skyrocketing because you don't have a choice - you still HAVE to buy it if you want to legally drive. The laws need to change. Insurance needs to become competitive again. So long as the law requires you to get assfucked by insurance companies, it will continue to happen
>>540174004My family lives in a house we bought for $135k in 2016. Paid it off in 2024 now that we make ~$180k.Now there's a similar house for sale in our neighborhood that's listed for $250k.My friends all bought houses last year in the $400k range, and they make less than we do. Property tax is double ours, despite having 1/3rd the land. Why would anyone choose to be house poor like that? It doesn't make sense.
