This might be a pure anecdotal coincidence but I have known two different guys who got into van life and then proceeded to kill themselves. I think its because the intense desire to escape their life leads them to van life. Then the disparity between their vision and how actually living in a van feels is enough to put someone into an extremely bad mental state. Plus you lost a lot of money. The resale value on converted vans is really bad.
