People forget that the US is so large it's essentially dozens of countries stitched together, so even though it's not as old as many, say, Euro countries, it has just as much, if not more, individual tidbits of history to go over spread out across the entire country (again, the US might as well be a singular continent unto itself it's so large). As such, history classes need to be dedicated solely to it. As a result World History classes are completely separate and often times don't start until 7th grade or so.
