Reminder that GENIUS Elon Musk thinks the solution to traffic is... an underground taxi network. Not... y'know, a... subway?

Woah imagine if a subway had private cars that took you exactly where you wanted to go.

Bro you're not elon you're a low level peon.

>imagine if a subway had private cars that took you exactly where you wanted to go
It would tank the throughput

You pay for convenience and comfort with throughput.
>>
>>540195255
So why not just drive yourself then?
>>
>>540195318
Traffic.

This is either supposed to be a supplement to highways or a replacement at some time far in the future.
>>
>>540196795
And why won't this service just create traffic of its own?
>>
>>540194714
a subway or high speed rail system = no one wants to buy his shit cars. nothing in our society is legit. it all sucks ass now.
>>
>>540194714
He sells cars of course he wants a solution involving cars
>>
>>540196931
I think it's designed with today's traffic control automation in mind. There are no jams, traffic is always rolling at peak efficiency.
>>
>>540197090
...and what is "peak efficiency" for this kind of a system?
>>
>>540195318
Can you do 120mph down the strip? The underground taxi you're in will be able to.
>>
>>540197129
Then why doesn't it?
>>
>>540194714
>people safe and secluded in their own vehicles
dats racist
>>
>>540197211
Why do you need to be secluded? You won't be when you get out and start walking around.
>>
>>540197184
you tell me
>>
>>540197432
Because it's not tenable in the size and shape of tunnels they're making? Lol
>>
>>540197477
so you don't know
>>
>>540197617
You actually think they're going to go 150 mph?
>>
>>540197739
plans change
>>
>>540196931
It is underground so it doesn't cause surface traffic.
>>
>>540194714
The advantage here is that a subway forces me into a metal tube with niggers, where as the self driving car using an underground tunnel is just me and whoever I'm with. That's a big boost to safety. It also lets individuals route closer to their destination instead of forcing everyone into gathering points for drop off and pick up, which is again just an opportunity for niggers to nig. Until full nigger extermination you will increasingly see technological progress aimed solely at reducing the impact and cost of niggerism.
>>
>>540200509
It'll cause underground traffic lol
>>
>>540200634
>That's a big boost to safety
Nigga Americans drive everywhere and our murder rate is literally like 10 times higher than European and Asian countries where everyone takes transit.
>but muh niggers
You need to interact with them on the street. If you don't want to see them then campaign to bring back segregation or just stay in your suburb.
>>
>>540195318
How does that idea make Elon Musk money in a captive market subsidized by taxpayers?
>>
>>540194843
Yeah and imagine making these essentially one lane and it takes a single nigger to grind it to a halt and leave you trapped underground for hours if not days.
>>
>>540197122
The one that doesn't account for the electric jizz box to run of juice in the tunnel leaving hundreds stranded for hours. Wow, I wonder why Elon shills memory holed this one.
>>
>>540194714
>an underground taxi network
impossible with jewish tunnels underground already
>>
>>540194714
>All the benefit of a subway
>With the maintenance cost of a road
What's your problem with this, OP?
>>
>>540200509
OP is saying that if you have 100 cars per minute on a road, and you make a new subway road that routes 25% of them to their destination faster, then the total number of cars on both roads will magically be greater than 100 cars per minute.
Because that would magically make him right.
And being right is all that matters to OP.
>>
>>540202250
Because no car has ever had reverse...
>>
>>540197306
The single greatest problem with mass transit solutions in America is the nigger. Personally owned cars solve the nigger problem. This is the most important aspect of underground roads as opposed to subway trains.
At the rate Europe is importing stabbers and streetshitters, they're going to start buying a LOT more cars.

The idea doesn't scale. Either you make it prohibitively expensive for plebs to use, in which case it will never be approved for construction, or you make it affordable to the public in which case it will become just as congested and inefficient as surface taxi services.

>>540204415
The problem is that cars in a system aren't fixed. When you build more lanes and more roads it increases, and when you destroy parking and cut off roads it decreases. If just making more roads magically fixes traffic why haven't we already done it?

>I’m sure people in red hats didn’t like lights until elon used some. Trump must be behind this, why that pesky TRUMP he’s in my mind talking things and doing …stuff. Aghhhhh i can’t stand it.
Yeah. You are mad.
TDS is a serious disease.
>>
>>540204932
You think China are a bunch of trannies?
>>
>>540204681
True, this solution is WAY faster than a subway. Lots more access points, so you get into it faster. Far higher speed and acceleration once you're in. Exit point much closer to your final destination. Don't need to exit your vehicle a single time. And SO much cheaper to build, capacity will become trivial to add over time.

>>540204820
The solution being engineered to address the issue is the boring machine. The speed at which tunnels can be dug is the one problem that Boring Company is attacking at scale. That's why the good idea wasn't adopted in the middle ages - because digging is hard and technology is just now being capitalized properly.

The reason digging is important is because adding a lane to a road eliminates other uses for the surface real estate. Digging a road doesn't get in anyone's way at all. A massive anthill-like network of hundreds or thousands of underground roads will feel as if you have your own personal lane most of the time. Adding a third dimension to the available real-estate is the biggest leap forward in roadbuilding since the wheel.
>>
>>540205102
Incredible how you're wrong about literally everything except it being cheaper up front lol
>they'll just add capacity trust me bro
How? Literally how.
>>
>>540205229
Being cheaper makes everything I said correct. It isn't magic, you just dig another fucking hole. Lots of them. Over and over. It's a BORING solution. And it works.
>>
>>540194714
because he's a jew and a pedo
>>
>>540205325
The more holes you dig the more congested it'll become, because they all need to interconnect, right?
>>
>>540205410
You keep insisting that if you have one lane and one car, that building a 2nd lane will cause additional cars to magically appear. That's a logical fallacy - strictly against the rules of this internet website posting board.
>>
>>540205497
Anon it's not a road open to the public lol. It's a taxi service.
>>
>>540205615
Don't change the subject. You know damn well that adding containers increases capacity. Just physics. Stop mad and accept the hole.
>>
>>540205828
Look up "induced demand"
>>
Fuck that shit

Where's my flying cars?
>>
>>540208392
Too dangerous.
>>
>>540194714
why americans worship that trillionare retard? the only thing he did right was throwing internet satellites into low orbit with the risk of turning earth orbit into a orbital debris junkyards.
>>
>>540208392
Digging is sort of like flying, but the end result is safe and efficient. Flying is paying the full cost of fuel every single time, instead of having wheels and energy-reclamation braking. The cost difference is orders of magnitude even before you deal with the safety issues.

Cletus and Jamal love their cars more than you. They'll love their flying cars more than you. "Teen takeovers" are dangerous enough when they're limited to the ground. If you don't want your toddler smashed in the backyard by some fucknugget's aftermarket exhaust falling off, you'll avoid having consumer products overhead.

>>540208946
Every satellite in orbit is deliberately placed in a decaying orbit to avoid the problem of debris. Its a system maintained by people smarter than you who do nothing but plan orbits to avoid problems, all day every day. Nothing to do with muskrat. It's a whole ass industry, my shockingly naive negro.
>>
>>540208261
>I placed a cup on the table so now it'll fill itself with water
You're trying to be as retarded as possible, so I assume you're a HUGE fan of tunnels.
