What we're doing is crashing the Yen so that we can 'offshore' Taiwan to a safer place. Same thing is happening in Texas lol, so may data center contracts it's insane. The lower the Yen, the cheaper to build, but with each build, it increases the value of Japan on a strategic stage, and that in turn will bring foriegn investment.

If they raise rates they will be assraped by their debt, Japan has a fuckhuge national debt they can only sustain thanks to low rates, its around 250% of their GDP, I suppose the National Bank of Japan could just forget about their share but even then they hold like 40% of it, the rest will want their dues.

We're reaching the end game for Japan's own hubris from not accepting the fallout when their bubble popped in the late 80's and into the early 90's. Instead of swallowing their pride and taking the hit, they instead played funny money games (quantitative easing and now known as modern monetary theory) to kick the can down the road but now they are running out of road due to their insane 240% debt to GDP ratio.

To date the Bank of Japan has been the largest buyer of Japanese long term bonds and equities (stocks). They have to buy their own bonds to help keep interests rates from spiking, which would make their insane debt level unaffordable, and they buy Japanese stocks because they also need to prop up the numerous zombie companies in Japan.

The proper way to strengthen their yen is to let interest rates rise but this then kills off the carry trade (which many foreign institutions use to make basically free money) but it would also cause Japanese government to default on debt (which since Japan prints its own money will just result in the Yen becoming completely worthless).

Instead they are asking the US to sell its euros and buy yen instead and its not working as people already know the long term issue with Japan has been shit interest rate making the yen weak. In fact, intervention has NEVER worked to help the yen because investors know its not a true fix.

The only way they can fix this shit is to recall their foreign financial holdings and repatriate the money back home and pay down their debt from 240% of GDP to a, still high but manageable, 120% debt to GDP ratio. This way they can let rates rise and strengthen the yen to avoid a currency crisis.

If they do this, the US gets put into a bind as Japan holds a lot of US securities and if they sell it to pay down their debt, it would spike interest rates in the US, slowing the economy significantly and causing global financial panic (worse than 2008 crash). tbc

>>
>>540197936

>>
>>540197796
This is why the US has any interest in helping with the intervention but as shown historically, no intervention has ever helped the Yen and its clear even the US assistance isn't going to work (no surprise, everyone knew it too).

The only way forward is either the yen crashes and Japan goes through a massive currency crisis dealing with unimaginably weak yen (basically causing Japanese people to become dirt poor as the yen won't buy much while its already weak as is) and it makes their economy slow down as cost of doing business in Japan becomes too expensive relative to the Yen.

Or they sell off treasuries and kill the global markets while hurting the US economy and interest rates.

Japan being a vassal will most likely have to take the hit and Japan will then basically enter a phase in time where they transition into a proper third world economy. I think this is what will happen.
>>
>>540197100

The powers that be have a new system that has been in the development for decades now, ready to be rolled out in the coming years. It will operate in parallel starting sometime this year and by the next decade it will be fully operational as the Agenda 2030 goals are slowly being implemented.
There will be no collapse, no violence, no uprising, no world war, no draft, no revolution, no killing of jews or politicians or other such fantasies. Instead there will be law & order, compliance and total surveillance until the very end. AI will be at the center of it all.

The Great Reset is inevitable.

Yeah, as soon as we invent some technology, China starts manufacturing it like 2 years later. Notably sodium batteries and solar panels. Manufacturing in the US is megacucked beyond belief because of how our universities work against us and up until recently our subsidies were actually going to machinery in China under US businesses. China may not completely control the USA, but it would probably be worse for them if they actually did on paper at this point.

if that was all they were doing then it wouldn't even be that bad, sure it would hurt the dollar somewhat but it would be just business as usual, the fima is an extremely weird cog that bessent added to obfuscate things but people are starting realise what it means and that's way worse for the usa, they're telling japan that instead of selling treasury bonds on the market america will pay them dollars and take the treasuries back, but what does that mean then? that america doesn't want to pay back debts on treasuries and would rather pay you with dollars, but they're issuing treasuries in the first place because they spend more than they make, that deficit can only be made up by borrowing or printing money, we just saw that they can't borrow anymore or their economy will just implode, so their only other choice is printing money, when a country starts printing money to pay off their debts then it's gg, empire is over

A lot of countries have been dropping their USD reserves and moving to Yuan/euro even crypto. Likewise with treasury bonds, and you should've been paying attention to what is happening regarding trade with the petrodollar.
It just so happens that Japan holds a ridiculous amount of US treasuries and it is technically a sovereign entity. If they need to liquidate for their own benefit we either rescue them and by extension ourselves, or just let shit happen and rely on the true backing of the American fiat system: the American military. oh. wait.

They alread are pretty self sustaining, that's what is different. At the time, Japan was so powerful (financially) that US companies were just selling out to them, the Yen was so strong it made no sense to invest there, China and Taiwan were much cheaper. Especially because they're enemies, we used that against each of them, to get better rates of return.

not really, the fima was created recently, they used swap lines in 2008, which is also a form of money printing but fima is way more damaging, swap lines are just "we printed money and we'll give you our printed money for your currency", fima is "we can't pay this debt anymore so we'll print money and buy back our own debt with it", if america is outright saying that they're scared of their debt hitting the bond market and will print money instead then what trust can you put in their economy

I don't think that is what is happening. FIMA has a limit. Bessent had a note on his desk last week to buy $5-10B USD of Yen, and my understanding is that the Japanese bought the rest of the FIMA limit, which is about $60B USD. ~90% of the FIMA account is Japanese owned.

There are a lot of things happening right now all over the world. Junior Miners in the US are getting laxxed and expedited exploration and mining approvals. Silver and Copper are breaking companies. Japan has some very specific technologies that they can produce to not only bypass a physical connection in a datacenter, it uses less electricity and heat, which requires less HVAC, and thus even more electricity. Toss the government/military subsidies and contracts in there, and now it's a viable consideration for additional external investment as a solution. At the same time the USA is expediting nuclear power, and growing datacenters like crazy. The Japanese are also building, and they're using the Yen as an asset to lure in foriegn investment, and from our perspective, we'd rather invest there than in Taiwan just due to geography.
>>
>>540199905
I don't think that's what they'er doing. I think they're using it as basically a way to cancel debt, similar to how most larger tech companies have been doing for the last 15 years. My guess is that it's been litigated in the courts enough that they can get away with it.

The BOJ is using their treasury holdings as collateral with the Fed to "borrow" dollars, which they're then selling to prop up the yen. Now this is all a bet that the yen will stabilize and Japan will be able to return the dollars down the line and make a profit/no loss. But that will never happen with the interest difference between Japan and the US.
This method saves the US, but I don't think Japan can be saved unless they hike their interest rate above the US's.
This is all on demand of Bessent btw. Japan would be safer in the long term if they just dumped the treasuries, but that would collapse the US.

>Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent supports Japan's use of the Federal Reserve's Foreign and International Monetary Authorities Repo Facility to boost the yen.
>The facility allows overseas central banks to use their Treasury holdings as collateral to access dollars, rather than selling bonds on the open market.
>Japan's use of the facility would be preferable for the US, as it would limit the impact on the US Treasury market, according to Philip McNicholas, Asia sovereign strategist at Robeco.

(cont) forgot to mention, the christcuckers retconned the torah into using latin gentil instead of directly translating the word goy. It would be kind of difficult to explain why the jew holy book refers to non jews as cattlepeople. A directly translated bible directly from the torah using jew words and then redo the new testament with the proper jew wording would be hilarious.
