I was offered a job here recently. I’ve never been to Kansas before. I’ve never even been to the Midwest for that matter. Redpill me on Kansas. What could I expect?

Nothing.
>>
>>540213143
i spent a few days in kansas a few years ago
it's empty and pretty bleak. If you want privacy it that seems an option, but the towns can be run down and dispiriting.
I saw some nice areas in the northeastern section near the nebrakska border, but the whole trip had the stench of death upon in.

Hotter than hell in the summer and steamy AF.
Meth.
Colder than a bitch in winter and still humid af in eastern part.
Meth
Dry skin and ultra high heating bills in western part.
Meth
People breaking into your house in the middle of the night and blasting your ass with shotguns cause they are wanting a few bucks for meth.
Did I mention meth?

I live here. Where is your job? Living expenses can vary a lot. 200k won’t last long in the KC area but nearly everywhere else would be great.
I like it but I was born here so I want to die here. The flint hills are beautiful.

>>540213533
Sounds like you had no reason to actually be in Kansas, or have anything to do with Kansas. Plenty of transplants get sour after they come here with the delusion that they are some how going to have a run of the town with little to no effort because "it's bfe what could possbly stop me". Sounds like you lost a poker game and got kicked out of Dodge.

If that is where you’re going it’s not very flat and there is a good social life. It will be harder to save money but maybe you can find a nice girl here or something. There is still a lot of churches and religious people even in the urban areas. Like I said, I like it here.

My job is in the Overland Park area. Rent there (Overland Park, Lenexa, Olathe area) seems to be pretty cheap too. A three bedroom apartment is only about $2400. I don’t see how $200k wouldn’t go very far with rent that cheap unless there is something I am missing. My wife is coming with me and she will be working too. The $200k is just me.
Any places I should avoid? My plan is basically to stick to Johnson County and just travel into KC whenever I feel like it.
>>
>>540213798

No where is really "unsafe" if you don't Put yourself in a situation. Johnson county will either treat you well or ruin you depending on what you choose. Don't be a retard and do your due deligence.
>>
>>540214029
Comfy. Glad to know there is some outdoor stuff to do. I plan on making the best of it. Is Kansas BBQ really all it’s cracked up to be?
>>
>>540214063
Avoid Wichita. The KC life is good. I’ve lived all over the USA and lived in kc for awhile as well. The Missouri part of kc is run by a nigger and not very well, but he hasn’t done a lot of damage. The Kansas side I like. Wyandotte county used to be seedy but we have had a lot of transplants and it’s much nicer now. The towns you mentioned are good.
>>
>>540214149
My understanding is the east side of Kansas City is very unsafe, and has one of the highest murder rates in the country. I plan on avoiding that obviously.
>>
>>540214063
if you're making real money in Kansas go all out and buy a large ranch, even if you go into serious debt.
real land is generational wealth
>>
>>540214201
I’m making real money but only on a temporary basis. It’s a one year contract.
>>
>>540214171
For my own information what is wrong with Wichita? Also a coworker told me Lawrence is a nice college town. Is it worth visiting?
What are the people like overall? I’m assuming it’s a fairly Republican/ right leaning place overall.
>>
>>540214150
I like the barbecue but I might be biased. My fav is rosedale bbq in kc, it’s on the Missouri side. The Nelson Atkins is a great museum. Pro baseball and football if you like sports. Plenty of coffee and restaurants to explore.
Ozarks aren’t far away if you want a weekend trip, so is colorado.
The weather here isn’t great desu but we have nice springs and fall. It does get hot in the summer but not as bad as Maryland or the rest of the south.
>>
I was traveling thru once. Used a shart mart to piss and heard a guy in the shitter yelling at someone on the phone to call an ambulance for his friends OD. I walked over to a gas station for 1 tall can and the nigger across the counter asked me if I had anything in my pockets. Kansas is full of low IQ people
>>
>>540214193
You can still go and see the part that is immediately at the border with the museums, stadiums, and downtown kc. I’m there all the time.

>Republicans try to ban abortion by using a deliberately vague advertising campaign to confuse voters ("Value Them Both")
>It fails by a huge margin, with record voter turnout
>Republicans go back to the drawing board, and come up with a new plan to ban abortion in Kansas by amending the state constitution to make it so our supreme court judges are elected rather than appointed, and therefore can be bought by special interests
>It again fails by an embarrasingly huge margin for what is supposedly a deep red pro trump state

It's fine. It is homey in a way that big coastal cities aren't. Avoid downtown KC until you get your bearing, as the diversity is pretty feral there. Lousy place to visit, comfy place to live. If the weather were better we couldn't afford to live here. Good gun laws, minimal jeets, few southern invaders.
>>
>>540214275
Lawrence and kc, even the suburbs, are left leaning. We have a Democrat governor. Wichita is full of niggers and not much else. I used to live in Lawrence but even it got too left for me. I prefer Manhattan however you can spend lots of time in Lawrence if you like it, it’s very close to the western kc suburbs.
Fort Riley and Wichita are also slightly left, they are blue islands in red areas according to the last presidential election.
>>
>>540214327
I have a few trips planned already. I get about a month of paid vacation time, so I want to do a road trip to see Mt. Rushmore, go to the Ozarks, and visit some of the parks in Colorado. I don’t drink or do drugs so not too interested in anything that way. I’m not into sports but also wouldn’t mind going to a baseball or NFL game just to see it.
I’m used to similar weather. My work sends me all over the place. I spent a year in Alberta once, and it’s a similar type of place. Dry hot summer and brutal winter.
Should I worry about tornadoes at all?
>>
>>540214392
Kansas has always been progressive. It’s just that the left is constantly moving further left.

I like homey. Currently I’m stuck in the NE and hate it, once again on a work contract. I don’t own any guns but wouldn’t mind joining a range and maybe renting some. I don’t have much free time these days but I do love shooting.
>>
>>540214485
You don’t have to really worry about tornadoes in the kc area. Even outside of that they are rare. It gets muggy here so expect that but still not as bad as the south. This year has been particularly muggy but 2024 was nice and dry so it didn’t feel too hot. The winters aren’t brutal either, it snows but not like in the upper Midwest. It’s rare for us to have extreme temps in either direction.

>seems to be pretty cheap too.
Everything is cheap here.
It's cheap for a reason and the company most likely moved there for that reason. Overland park is basically the part of Kansas that's the most built up. You'll realize that nothing actually happens in Kansas.

That's homo central for some reason.
Trannies will try to lure you there. If you like tranny bashing and taking them out into the corn to disappear, then you'll love it there.
>>
>>540214731
Ok and? It’s not a state that can be easily declared red. Read the book ‘What’s the matter with Kansas’ we have lots of democrat governors and Topeka is fairly blue even with its reputation from the westboro baptists.
I wish we were more reliably red but it’s whatever.

when the siren goes off everyone goes out to look. most tornados are skinny and only hit a small line, and even then chances of one hitting you are nearly zero. with modern tech you mostly know where they're at and can track them. Mostly.
>>
>>540213143
Kansas is lame, it's got nothing going on, everyone there is a hick, it's embarrassing. But most of all, Kansas is FULL, you shouldn't go there because there's no room. Just stay wherever you are, that place is a million times better than Kansas.
>>
>>540214780
You’ll be ok in Overland Park or Lenexa or leawood. Or move slightly more west to Tonganoxie, basehor, Eudora, de Soto, Olathe, edgerton, Paola.
>>
>>540214974
I’d like to keep it in the Lenexa, Overland, Olathe area if only to be close to my work. There are some super cheap places for rent in De Soto but I don’t feel like commuting. Or maybe I’m crazy and used to NE traffic and it’s actually a short drive. I also want my wife to feel safe for obvious reasons. Like if she wants to go for a walk I want her to not get robbed or whatever. Lenexa and Overland Park seem like the best places based on what I’ve found online.
>>
>>540214477
>Wichita is full of niggers and not much else.
Wiki says only 10% Niggers.
Then again, 'Frisco is supposedly only 6% Nigs but on the streets you'd swear it was solid "Black majority" 'berg.

Northeastern area around Manhattan is kinda cool. I can't talk too much shit about the rest, I come from southern IL. If proximity to concentrated cities is something that matters for you, be careful where you end up.
>>
>>540215676
Are there parts of Johnson County that should be avoided?
>>
>>540215086
It’s not a bad drive at all but maybe get a long term stay hotel for two weeks at first and try it out. I just wanted to add that there are bedroom communities slightly more outside of the city that def have more white people. I’ve commuted from Topeka to kc before, it’s long but it’s doable. Conversely my commute from Tacoma park, md to Herndon, va was unbearable.
Also congrats on your baby.
>>
>>540215861
I said in other posts but my plan is Lenex, Olathe, or Overland Park. They seem safe enough. Are there parts of these areas to be avoided?
>>
>>540215902
I can’t think of any. It’s known to be wealthy. It’s probably the wealthiest county in the state
>>
>>540215946
Thanks. I am looking forward to it. I wouldn’t mind be further out, but I have to take my wife into account. She seems pretty fixated on the areas I have mentioned. If it were just me I’d find the cheapest place I could.
Outside of that, how are the people? Coworker tell me that from their experience most people they’ve run into out there are pretty friendly.
>>
>>540216069
I think they are friendly but again I might be biased. I live west of kc now near the flint hills but I have lived in OP before and worked in KCMO. Good luck to you, I have to go to bed now. I think you’ll be good here, your wife has picked out nice places.
