Japan has enough US treasury bonds to completely fuck over the US dollar in its current state and an economy that's not doing to well.
They could flood the market, or we could help them out by purchasing said treasuries at a discount of course.
Consider that inflation for other currencies has been considerably worse than for us in the US, and that the dollar is still losing its status as a reserve currency.
