Considering that democrats opposed israel wars during the 2000s, and when we voted for trump in 2016 we thought he was an outsider candidate btfoing the neocons, its pretty clear that the base of both parties hates israel and its grip on our politics, while politicians of both parties are israeli slaves. People forget that in 2016 trump was the peace candidate. Of course in 2008 obama was too.

But they can't campaign on nothing or appear to be sitting on their hands doing nothing. The purpose of the culture war, on both sides, isn't to be genuine. Its to be distracting, something that they can rant about and make promises and maybe even propose bills related to but none of those details actually impact anything that the elites care about because none of it touches their money. The actual progressive wing, which is what is fueling the DSA, is pushing systemic changes that cut past the culture war bullshit to try and hit the actual mechanic layer that disrupts the status quo that the elites genuinely care about. Hence the uproar, for the first time since occupy wallstreet there is a political movement that actually threatens their bottom line.
