Hasn't India lost like 3 oil tankers in a week now? They are fucked beyond belief. Well, relatively fucked, probably a die off to the tune of 10 million which is nothing, but still.

India has very low social cohesion in general AND a lot of recent anti-government protests that happened just recently. Once the food runs short the government will eat the blame, there will be riots, and any attempt by the government to centralize and ration out food will be a disaster waiting to happen. Instead, people will just raid their neighbors for whatever food and fuel they can get their hands on for their own benefit. This is not a situation where people will work together to get through a crises, this is a powderkeg waiting to blow.
