How quickly people move on when people die? It's random, I saw my parents wedding video, from the 1980's, and the cameraman was slowly going around filming people at the wedding, and my parents would be saying like>oh she died in 1997>that guy die in 1988>oh that was my uncle John he died in 1995>that was my friend Mary, she and her 3 kids died in a car crash in 1992I could go on... it was like at least 50% of the people at my parents wedding are now dead, and I do remember some of them when I was a young kid seeing them in the video...... but they may as well never have even existed in the first place, because they're gone, their existence is on some VHS tapes or in some old photos in someone's house. This world is really odd, everyone just moves on after someone dies, like they never even existed. Its even rare that some of the best people in the planet that achieved great things even get remembered, most of them are forgotten about too.Kinda makes me question the whole point of really doing anything besides dopamine maxxing and enjoying what time I have.I feel like this is only getting worse now as peoples attention spans get lower and lower...
yep once everyone who knew you is also dead, then it'll be as if you never even existed unless you were really famous like Hitler or whatever
just keep fucking pussy and queefing out more kids, it's how we stay immortal
>>540247289Either reincarnation is true or this is the only life you get. If the former is true, you should take Nietzsche's eternal return to heart. If the latter is true, you should try to make the most impact on the world you can.
>>540247289This is life. You eventually get over shit. You seem very sheltered like you never had to deal with anything hard in the world>3AM in Australiaoh you are a jobless failed NEET makes sense now
Also went to see my dead grandparents at the cemetery and seeing the dates on the tombstonesSeeing some guy for example born 1987, and died in 2005, so they guy died at 18 years old, and we've all just moved on for the following 21 years like that guy never existed.
>>5402475633:40 actually. But yes I have.I came across a video game soundtrack from the year 2000 a few days ago. Hearing it took me back 26 years and I suddenly remembered all the relatives in my family who use to be alive back then.
>>540247289>How quickly people move on when people die?So ur gonna let a death devastated you for 40 years?
Ideally you can leave behind something after you die, like maybe you did some woodworking and have some nice tables or something cool that will help people remember you.I've got a huge dildo collection that somebody is going to find
>>540247632Go outside more, find a job and purpose. The reason you are hug up on this is because you are a directionless NEET with the same mentality of an 8 year old. Part of mentally growing up is dealing with loss

>>540247289You are right its far more healthy to be like the moms who cant get over their 20 year old sons deaths and bring them up constantly and cry about them and mention them in all their prayers as if they are the second ear to God. Thats healthy.
>>540247289The world marches on.You'll get used to it after a couple of funerals.
>>540247289Maybe because dying doesnt feel like they went very far. The people I know who have died, it feels like they've just gone next door, even though they don't come back. Wherever they are, along some axis it must not be too far.
You cannot grieve forever.
>>540247289You cant let stuff hang on you forever. Im 38 and ive lost a lot of friends and family over the past 10 years and its sad and I have memories of them but if I sat and thought about all of them all the time id go psychotic. The best thing to do is learn from them understand it was their time and focus on not being the next one. I want to hit 100 one day thats my goal ill never understand people who say "im good living till 80" like wtf i talk to war veterans in bars all the time and these guys are in their late 80s went to Nam twice and they drive, move around, walk on their own, eat whatever they want, drink/smoke etc so it really changed my perspective on age my family luckily has pretty good age my grandmother is 98 and shes weak but she still does her thing so I hope I can be like that
I’ve kind of resolved that the main goal of life is just Learning/ experience.Just learn anything and everything as well as experience as much as you can.
>>540247430Not true. If you have a bowling trophy it’s in that alleyway until it’s gone. Founding a company will keep your name on it until it shutters. Being the first to do something on record. You can only be remembered if you achieve something worth remembering
>>540248010I’m the same way, I want to live to 102 at least so that I can have lived in 3 different centuries.I’ve never spoken to an old person, who still had their wits and mobility, want to die. I see many very old people clinging to life up to the bitter end wishing they had made better choices so they could live longer. I’ve taken these experiences to heart and as such I try to live a very healthy and active lifestyle while also gaining as much knowledge as I can.
>>540247477Most people already make an impact. Everyone you know knows someone else. So you've directly impacted millions. At your recent family gathering, they reminded you that OP is a faggot because I said so.
>>540247289It’s easier than bearing the pain forever, although 30yrs later is by no means evidence of moving on quickly. Your parents are probably the type of people who constantly stay busy, maybe with hobbies, socializing, or hyper-focusing on politics(etc), because they are truly afraid of being alone with their own thoughts for even a moment, as they never took the time to actually process the pain, instead forever putting it off with another distraction. That, or they’ve processed it remarkably well, having found a way to be thankful whomever they lost didn’t have to endure the hell we live in now, that they were given an easy out, a guilt-free death. Some of us feel like we’re only here because of our inhuman ability to take an enormous amount of pain and torment without an heroing, like the world is some sort of prison planet wherein our energy is harvested by some sick sadistic sons of bitches.

I work in a kitchen and these zoomers have a really hard time taking a joke which is weird too because they were born when memes were big and memes are pretty much just off color jokes packaged in a fun way so you'd think they would get with the program a lil. >>540248198Yeah I visited a buddy of mines grandpa in hospice because he didn't want to go alone and it was a very eye opening experience. I told him "don't you think he'd rather be at home listening to music or watching tv or something?" It was very miserable. Leave behind a legacy and build something for your next generation. Don't waste your twenties being slow.
>>540247289OP you should know why you feel that way. Maybe as a kid or teen you could actually dwell on the horror of death, but as an adult you literally just feel like "Ok, whatever, I JUST want to get on with my day!" for anybody who dies and isn't directly deeply connected with you like a sibling or parent. You realize most people at a funeral aren't actually sad, they're there out of respect for the dead and their grieving loved ones, but their empathy is often forced and the dead will be "forgotten" by half the people there. You realize this inevitably when you yourself have someone in the family die. The first gut instinct is "Great, now I have to go to their funeral and stop what I'm doing to do this whole ritual thing".It's just like how at some age you stop caring what about doing everything to try and get people to view you a certain way. It's like a grim maturity where you just become too busy and life had gone on for just long enough that the patterns bore you. You no longer are affected by death or the existential horror of it all.>Oh you died? That sucks, anyway gotta get back to muh job or muh vidya! That's how it is, it sucks because you WANT others to act like the king is dead and to grieve and pray for you for a long time, to remember you and actually care you're no longer there. But in reality, only your siblings and children assuming you don't die before your parents really care.As someone else stated, the only way to be remembered forever is to write some famous shit and then influence a lot of people into doing some REALLY big shit so people remember you forever, like Alexander the Great, or Hitler.
I mean if you think about it, most friendships simulated or real involve one party being a leech and only giving you someone to talk to in return. You even give them a parting gift (your respects) when they die. Then you can do whatever you want.Caretaker fatigue comes into play too. Not even big world leaders that draw massive crowds are immune. After that parting gift, everyone is free.
>>540248520>It's just like how at some age you stop caring what about doing everything to try and get people to view you a certain way.Thats when you really get your free will
>>540247289Yeah, what gets me is how everyone's responses to a loved one dying are always >now *I* won't get the fun/wholesome/enjoyable times that I got from him/her anymore! Just >I'm a poor victim of someone else's death and that's all I have the capacity to care about, is how everything pertains to ME!

>>540248520We didn’t need your diatribe to understand we live in a society that could care less about the deaths of men. Our anti-male society mourns the value of lost women and how wonderful they were all the time. This complete lack of any care for the deceased is reserved almost exclusively for men. Guys routinely die within 6 months or a year of their wife dying, because they become depressed as fuck and stop caring about going on Women will live for another 30 years telling the grandkids about how she didn’t start really enjoying life until her husband was gone. It couldn’t be any more night and day different.

>>540247289My grandparents are in their late 80s. I remember when my grandfather finally sold his house and they moved in to a retirement community. He was reflecting on all the years there. My mom grew up there, her younger siblings, largely i did, and my younger cousins too. That house and all the joy in it shaped my very image of what the good life was. To be sitting there at the head of the table and have your family all their, wife and kids and grandkids. Happy and fully bellies. A whole community of neighbors coming and going, eating and bringing food and drink, drinking and being merry. I remember the old home videos I've seen from all the way back in the 70s of the bbqs they used to do in the park and how the tennis coirt would be converted into a skate rink in the winter. Despite all those memories, no, i think because of all those memories he said that there's nothing left for him there anymore. He said that he's the last man standing. That he "won" and gave the a little laugh more seeped in sadness than I've ever heard and remarked on it being a hollow victory. All their old friends are dead you see. All those neighbors that come by on the holidays, all the community that was there, it just didn't exist anymore. I'm grown, my cousins are, my parents of course. Not even the family can get together like we once did. We have our own families and friends and communities that we have to put time into. Now it's just a house. A house filled with memories that have turned into ghosts.People move on because you can't live among the dead nor in a memory. You don't really move on though because you don't forget either. We're all haunted. We'll all join the ghosts one day too.

Parents, friends, old and young, and emotional attachment becomes exhausting. "Moving on" isn't a one-and-done deal, what you are observing is probably more complex than what you are interpreting.

I remember asking my dad, at like 5 or 6 what he meant by “blow the speakers” if we turned up the music too loud in his Camaro, like, do they literally blow up, or just break apart? And he basically just told me that was a retarded question, didn’t even attempt to answer it, and wonders why his nice bigass Sony speakers wound up trashed after my poking/prodding and experimentation to find out what the fuck happens if you blow speakers out. I found out after having fucked around, but it was worth it.

>>540250879>Maybe they died and relatives didn't value itMost likely, relatives usually want to clean out a place quickly after a death and that mindset leads to "get rid of it" attitude. >>540247289Are you a kid or acting like one?Yes everyone dies, but not everyone lives. If you would spend all your time mourning dead people you would not live. It’s pretty nice that those people are still remembered 30-40 years later. This does not mean that you have to live for hedonism. In some ways humans build things collectively. But then our leaders decided to import all the niggers and sandniggers to destroy the collective, but that’s a different story.
>>540249906And here we are talking about diatribes we don't need. Even if its only to talk, brother, like you did just now, its okay. We all feel some sort of variation of -that- way. We are told our lives are meaningless and the only thing that matters is to consume. You don't have to live that way. the onus is on us, as men, to find meaning and worth in our lives. Unlike women we can't rely on a society to tell us right from wrong, what is good and what is bad. We are able to discern that for ourselves and what really matters at the end of the day is if you can live with yourself. And even that only matters for as long as you live. When the world doesn't give a fuck about your life or death that is natural. Family cares. Friends care. But they have to keep going on living after you go the same way you have to keep on living when they go. I'm sure you are carrying with you important bits of your family with you close to your heart. We're all just gathering warm, shining experiences to carry us through the dark. And it is so dark. Ours is the duty to keep the fire of civilization, our shining memories, alive, burning, continuing to cast light and fight against the shadows that would swallow us all for eternity. You're carrying with you the hopes and dreams of a bloodline. Of a family. And surely there are some among us for whom family wasn't worth a damn, but that has not always been so. Be the one who husbands their strength, who guards their flame of hope and desire for Justice and Love that you might pass it on to someone else. That you might be the warm memory someone carries with them into their dark places. There are real monsters in the world. Ours is the duty to go into the dark places and root them out. Lest we in our spite cast everyone into the crushing dark that seeks to consume us all.

Nothing stops. The pizza place down on the corner will be open tomorrow and people will order pizzas for dinner while the dead person will never have another slice. Nothing that happens the next day will be known to that person who just died. Aaliyah never knew about 9/11 which happened 3 weeks after she died. Some music nerd never heard his favorite band's best record because it came out a year after he died... and so on.This shit cuts and can give you an existential crisis when you think about what it all means and that you will experience this same fate someday. And you were strong enough to walk away when you needed to even if maybe it was a day late and a dollar short a couple times. Even if, especially if that is the case, your wisdom and learning might help out a younger brother. True male role models in this shitshow thats left of society are few and far between. Most of them are giving advice directly tied to their wallets so how do you trust anything coming out of their whore mouth when it is obvious that money is more important to them than Truth. Despite what the kikeslave media would have you believe, we are the captains of this Ship we call society. We're either going to correct course or go down with it. If you feel like you have nothing to live for, sit down and really think. Think about what is important to you on a fundamental level. Think about who in your life you still have love for. Who you can help. Who you can't help, as wasting time is always a hard thing to wrap your head around after you've already sunken the cost into it. I suppose I'm saying spend your energy and stamina and will where it will do most good and to not lose sight of the bigger picture in search of any sort of figurative white whale to the detriment of what you know to be good and true. The most valuable thing isn't time, its what you choose to spend it on. Sometimes that requires a real sitting down and deciding what that is.Godspeed toward victory, brother. My first gf dumped me August of 2014 and Dad died April of 2015. We dated since high school for 6 years, and while I'm glad I'm not with that BPD whore anymore your first relationship ending is a pretty big emotional hit. Then my dad succumbed to alcoholism at 51. I was 24 and it fucked me up for several years, I still miss him. I blame me being single for a decade after on that shit combination of events. I still feel like I have residual PTSD or something from that, my mom became an even more unhinged soviet born and raised woman. But after the grief and sadness subsided, I just think of all the fond memories growing up. He gave me a great childhood and was a good man, even if an alcoholic. He's a lot of why I think I've always wanted a family of my own.Idk if anyone agrees but having a parent you love die in your mid 20s seems somehow worse to experience on a cognitive level than if he died if I was like 7 or 77. As a kid you'd be sad sure, but you'd grow up knowing life without him, or as an old man I'd have seen him live his life into old age and die naturally and have him see his grandkids before dying, etc. He died a month before I graduated college and almost flunked out. I finally was stepping into real adulthood and he was gone. No more advice, or hanging out, or new experiences together like you did for nearly a quarter century before. I miss him so much bros, but life moves on.

>>540248072I don't care about legacy. Absolutely everything on this world is meant to fade away. Ive built a lot of things and 95% of it is already gone and I'm ok with that. Dump my ashes under a nice tree.Eternity isn't here. It's after the demolition. So I treat my present moments with care.

>>540247289Not everyone or every time. I have A plant from the 90s my great grandma grew and think of her and my grandpa every day because of it. A houseplant from my Aunt. An outside plant from my grandma. I've tried to dig into extended family history and know past generations somewhat but its hard when no one else seems interested in the obscure work of a family tree or the future generations and how they might be incentivized to appreciate it and keep it going. Keeping the past afloat is easy enough for minor instances and a few generations. True archival of generations and countless physical objects is a whole other thing. I try to lean on photos instead of objects out of practicality. Limiting to only the most important.Life it's very odd as you said. I completely agree. I've been fixated with questions of existence, the limitations of our perception as humans. How random it all seems to be while having other layers that lean towards the opposite. It feels like escapism but being in motion is the best way I know to deal with that reality. Live your life because its a gift regardless. Go out and touch grass. Leave the world a better place. Live life in the way you feel is ideal despite how much crap has become the norm. And remember the ones you've cared about and lost out of respect, appreciation and the character you keep alive that lives on inside you. It helps their memory and makes you a better person.
>>540247289You're telling me? I'm a coroner. Everyone's fate is to be reduced to a rotted corpse. There's no circulation, nothing is replenishing. You just rot, your fluids settle and start to leak, your skin sheds off, bugs eat you bit by bit until nothing is left. And that's all you ever were, a bunch of atoms somehow arranged and kept maintained by that spark we call life. Once it's gone you're no longer animated and it all just returns to the earth. It's crazy.

>>540249906And at the end of the day, these same dumb women realize how fucked they are when the men who protect them are gone. It is as if people have no concept of the fact that the laws are determinant on the dominant culture and demographic, if Islam takes over, well all their laws they tout so much as a good will immediately be considered heresy. These idiots only realize the consequences when they are in their death throes.
A lot of this has already been said, but, also, I feel like people are missing the point that the economy is so fucked up. The last 4 people in my life that have died have had no funeral. They just get fired up in a kilm and turned to ash and shipped in an indigent box. The average person can no longer afford luxuries like paying respects and mourning. The modern economy is so fast that it demands the spice flows at all and any cost

>>540248878>Women will live for another 30 years telling the grandkids about how she didn’t start really enjoying life until her husband was gone. This shit is so fucking sick and depraved and it actually hurt my relationship with my grandmother who, outside my mom (who died young) was someone I was incredibly close to.My grandfather was a great man; Based as Fuck, military officer, statesman, a patriarch in the community, wise and mostly self-educated. When he died in his late 70s before the cancer took him he could run, work and fight circles around most 40 year-olds. There was almost nothing this guy couldn't do. I never heard or saw anyone say anything bad about him.A few years after he dies everyone just starts talking shit about him. My grandmother completely remodeled their house and it was like she was trying to remove every single trace of him as much as possible. Keep in mind, this is the same guy who raised all her kids, paid for her way of life, set up trustfunds for all the grandkids and everything. This dude was everything a woman could've ever wanted in a man.She literally hated him the whole time and just couldn't wait to be rid of him and our now Pro-Hypergamous Society allowed her to do that. Her chroninc disrespect of him and his legacy and everything he did for me, my parents and our whole community and state permanetly damaged our relationship. The creature known as the Modern Woman is to be despised at all costs.
>>540247289people have been discussing this since ancient Greece and earlier. It's liberating because it forces you to realize how silly your anxieties over what anyone thinks of you are. Everything other than God or whatever you believe deeply in is vanity.
>>540247289>Isn't it kinda odd and a lil scary how quickly people move on when people die?For the living know that they will die;But the dead know nothing,And they have no more reward,For the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished;Nevermore will they have a shareIn anything done under the sun.-Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 Verses 5-6>Kinda makes me question the whole point of really doing anything besides dopamine maxxing and enjoying what time I have.Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God. For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, more than I? For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.-Ecclesiastes Chapter 2 Verses 24-26So I commended enjoyment, because a man has nothing better under the sun than to eat, drink, and be merry; for this will remain with him in his labor all the days of his life which God gives him under the sun.-Ecclesiastes Chapter 8 Verse 15>>540248050>I’ve kind of resolved that the main goal of life is just Learning/ experience.Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.-Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 Verse 10
>>540247289>life and death Oldfag here, one of my best friends P died a few weeks ago. Him and my other good friend J all grew up on the same suburban block 3 houses away from each other…always had each other’s backs from the age of riding big wheels to working on each other’s hoopdie rides as teens and he was one of a handful of people who I would trust with my life, money, or woman.Me and J stopped off at a bar after we both got out of work to raise a toast to our lost friend, and got to talking about how many of our other friends from the neighborhood are now dead….We stopped counting when we got to 20 and said that we would be knee walking drunk if we tried to toast them all. Some gone in their teens and 20s and others like P barely made it to 50….The older you get, the more loss you’ll accumulate, if you’re a likable person at all.Eventually we all reach the point where life stops offering you so many things and instead starts taking them away, but you must continue to look for life’s small gifts or the sense of accumulated loss will make you neck yourself like a troon who’s seen the mirror…

>>540247289Until very, very recently in human history, death was common for those under 10. You'd have 7-10 kids and 2-3 would live to 10. The humans that were so overwhelmed with grief that it affected their daily life didn't survive. they either committed suicide, or stopped having kids. The ones that could cope with grief tanked it and powered through. Personality traits are somewhat genetically heritable, so over the course of thousands of generations, humanity selected for "able to cope with grief."
>>540260150He was brutally mocked in his time and how is reputation is torn between the lies that were told about him and some minor attempts to rehabilitate his legacy. At best, he's "remembered" for walking backwards and singing Billy Jean. The last funeral I went to with an open casket was in 2011, rural MO for a very old uncle of mine, who lived simple and poor but saved enough for the funeral and plot. It was like a massive family reunion, and actually felt like a celebration of his life, other than the graveside service itself which had more somber tones. 5 memorials since then, 2013, 2019, 2023, 2024, 2025

My grandfather was my 2nd dad as my real one died when I was 5. I then quickly became the family scapegoat and a leper(for not getting the vax) and couldnt even wait for my grandmother who was deteriorating fast due to broken heart syndrome. Gossip, lies, insanely fast as well. A single message from me got spread to other members in literal seconds, always removing any context and painting me a monster whos unhinged. It almost killed me. Perverse resentment I didnt know could exist, my biggest crime was loving them more than anything in the world, and them loving me just as much. That was my crime. All I got out of it was losing my family, yet a deep dive in their dysfunction(no lying, I can see how it rubbed into me, giving me bad traits) and scary personality disorders that arent quirks like I used to think.Im like my dad. He hated his sister, as I hate mine. Literal bpdemon. My aunts, uncles, sadly some cousins, are way more fucked up than I thought. Took 9 years to see a light in the tunnel, sober for almost one after 8 of alcoholism and isolation. My family on both sides have serious generational trauma. Im the only one I know so far who figured it out and how to break it. An older cousin or two I think know inside but not to my extent.Be glad if a death is just a passing death sometimes. This has been hell.Gods a little funny, uncle who was the worst vaxmaxxed to a literal meme degree(like 4 fucking at the start) and heart is completely fucked by age 60. Never had a gf, pushed anyone who can stand him away barring family. My dad and grandparents left a mark, my cousins loved them. He has almost nothing.

>>540247872>But then it'll be found and used by someone who actually caresThis. I rescued a console television from the dump recently and play N64 games on it now. Someone worked at the Zenith factory back in the day to build that thing and a piece of their effort would have been destroyed forever if I hadn't grabbed it. I also wonder about the people who owned it back in the day and where they are now and if I'm even the first person to play N64 on it.The things we build will outlive us and the stories behind them will keep growing even after we are gone. Those autists who collect furniture from the 1700's may be onto something after all.
