>>540248794Yes. I worked in tech for many years, starting before the internet became a big thing. The internet era brought the softest, spoiled, useless people into the industry. Companies used to provide free food and snacks because the work schedules were insane and you often couldn't or wouldn't stop working to go eat. New people turned that into full meal service with special menu options to cater to their whims. It was a disaster, and I'm glad to see them all getting cashiered.

I close the books, publish the financials, present the board member package, catalog all company assets, and even enter bills and set them up to be paid. I have no idea what the 10 or so other (women) do. There are some who I haven’t even spoken a word to since I started a year ago. We also have a “social media manager” (for a fucking public accounting firm), no idea what she does as she has no direct reports, but apparently part of her job was hiring a graphic designer to draft a new company mascot that had an animal who literally looked like it had been hit with a shovel (“It’s like the beat up car insurance guy and see like half of our clients are personal injury law attorneys so it fits!”) to which I received an invoice for $6k just for the design, in total the implementation cost was about $25k. It was the first time that I’ve ever seen, during over a decade long accounting career, where someone unilaterally had the authority to spend close to the entire salary of an accounting assistant. I didn’t suspect her or committing any fraud until she was openly talking about the book “The 5 Hour Work Week” which is basically a guide to getting a white collar job and getting to a level of trust with your employer to the point that you can outsource almost every deliverable aspect of your job to Fiverr jeets for pennies.We also have a “project manager”, which is a 72-year-old woman who comes in twice a week just to order office supplies from Amazon, $70k a year salary, maybe 15 hours of work a week.It wasn’t until I actually caught our payroll person for real fraud and replaced her that I realized that these women are not only costing the company (a fuckton) of money, but many are downright malicious about it.
