It's actually one of the few things she and her geopolitical adversaries like Russia and China are aligned on. Also also, I don't think that the American government has ever been formally apologetic about either nuking Japan or supporting non-proliferation. They are both positions justified by the realities of the time, and they'll happily present their logic for it, no deception needed.
