People aren't realistic. The reason to not open your own studio and be an indie to get regular pay/benefits up front with some more security. With that comes expectations of sales and dealing with a corporation's mandates. I do feel bad for some person without much control. Like imagine some guy who is just working on shadows and lighting. he has no control over what the project is. he's just going his job. The game can be shit for reasons outside of the scope of him and his team's work. Regardless, it's other people's money that's paying their pockets and they can choose to stop paying them. There's some people who say corporations have deep pockets so they should just eat losses, CEOS should take paycuts. A nice sentiment, but the corporation does not have to do that, nor is the person entitled to work forever for that company. Let's say they did, to what extent does the CEO stick around if he's getting paid less? How do you incentivize people to join your company? And if the corporation keeps losing money, why would people invest in it? They'll invest elsewhere. A lot of suggestions would kill these companies outright and lose everyone their jobs. In my opinion.
