There is a visa for Europeans that lets you work in Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc for one year called Working Holiday Visa.I did as many of those as I could before I turned 30.I lived and worked 1 year in NZ, 1 year in Canada, 4 years in Australia (covid), 1 year Hong Kong.As a backpacker espeically in places like Australia you mostly do fruitpicking jobs wherr you live on the farm with other backpackers from EU/Canada/Japan etc. I mostly worked in mining and construction. Had no real trade or experience but they didnt give a shit. In the outback the'll hire anyone that shows up.During this time I saved money to also backpack around South East Asia because it was piss cheap and right next door.Obviously also been around Europe. Just got back from a roadtrip around the Baltics.

I'm a 20 year old NEETcel, I hate life. But don't feel bad about not traveling, I've done it all over Europe, and my life doesn't improve by seeing a new town or city in a different country. For most people traveling is just aimlessly walking around or eating overpriced food at restaurant. The only fun I had traveling was taking the train through ukraine with the destination being moldova, i spent only 100PLN the whole trip, i don't know why it was fun, i just liked it a lot more than any gay little hotel trip in france.

I don't regret anything, honestly. I am pretty happy with where I ended up given the circumstances, I can do better and will do better but the foundation is good. I think I did everything I wanted to do in my timeline that I could do the best I could with my circumstances.I feel I did everything I should have done, all along, and I am greatful to myself for that. I think I did a lot for me, and I appreciate that. This my conclusion, truly, and I think it's objective.

Otherwise 20-25 NZ/AU dollars per night is not shocking, its like equivalent of 500 euros per months which is what you pay for rent normally at home. But like I said, majority of backpackers work at farms, and there you get a room very cheap, sometimes even free.I've also had jobs in mining or hotels or on a fishing boat where I also barely paid anything cause job provided staff accomodation.I never really stayed longer than 6 months for the same employer. As a backpacker you're almost constantly on the move. You always find a friend to travel with as well. I think I drove across Australia at least 4 times.

My hotel in Canada paid me like 14 dollars per hour lmao but I got free food and a private unit, and it was a lot of fun living with other backpackers and go hiking in the mountains etc. New Zealand also had shit wages but it was probably the best time of my life.Most jobs in Australia paid really well tho (i had one fishing job where I literally made equivalent to 5000 euros per month) cause they are so desperate for people, and the job is very tough.

Im like 35 today. I dont think I could handle sleeping in a dorm anyone or deal with the constant shenanigans that went on in those hostels, or work for 20 dollars per hour at some farm. I want stability now, but back then, life was just n games.Also, I knew that if things wouldnt work out, I was always welcome back to my parents home.
I regret not joining the army in my early twenties and getting a little adventure in my life. I also regret not trying to make it in a bigger city like New York for a while. I realize now what I needed most was some adventure and risk taking but I was too demoralized to see that at the time. Otherwise I’m doing alright on paper. I could be doing better but I’m not bad. There’s a lot I would do differently if I could be 18 again.

Nicest trip I did lately was to Armenia, I had no hopes in having a good time but the round trip was less than 100€ so I gave it a shot. I really enjoyed the vibe there, very european with eastern influences, the prices are dirt cheap, no niggers or arabs at all. Yerevan is full of Russian baddies that are generally easier to hook up than armenian women that act more conservative
