I always find it particularly obnoxious because I’ve been to China many times and I can tell you from first hand observation China is kind of a shithole. Yes, all those videos about clean city centers covered in lights are real, and they’re pretty nice but there are many shithole countries with nice cities in them. The capital of Kazakhstan is quite nice as well. The real China is basically collapsing commie blocks with a massive homeless population, struggling youth, and a culture that quite frankly from a Western perspective can only be described as repulsive. It’s probably top 3 most shallowest and most immoral societies on the planet, and if you think America is anywhere near the top of that list you unironically just haven’t traveled enough to realize how wrong that is.
