Economically I don't see a problem with it.Prior to having a smart meter they would "estimate" my usage because they were to lazy and cheap to send someone to check my usage monthly because I was "too rural".This always resulted in me being overcharged and receiving a "credit" when they actually checked my usage 6 months later.The credit NEVER ever made up for the overcharge and I was constantly always owed money from the power corp.
