For all of human history, creating a manmade object has been the sacred process of identifying the correct starting material, seeing in your minds eye how the finished state should be, and then removing all that is unecessary in order to manifest the final perfect form in reality.Yes plastic (real reading comprehension moment here) materials like clay and lead have been used, but they would require the shaping of hands and tools to bend them to your will, still similar to subtractive manufacture.3D prining on the other hand uses machine made synthetic plastic resins to make imperfect, layer line ridden slop proudcts. The products are made from a 3D file. You have fundamentally divorced the sacred act of creation from the human soul, and the tragic results speak for themselves with the low-quality, harmful endproducts that come out of it.A carpenter, machinist, leatherworker etc all channel a state of divine exctasy and inspiration through their creative acts, pressing a "Print" button does not.
>>540347450Until you consider the ones that create the 3d model themselves. Try thinking things all the way before speaking. Dumbass. Half thoughts don't count as wisdom.
>>540347450yes and most prints dont last long
>>540347450No, it's useful for prototyping. But yeah I wouldn't want to buy or keep anything that is mainly 3d printed. Some crafts will be much worse if 3d printing is used at all however, as imperfections, surprises, are part of the charm.

>>540347450cars are mostly all plastic so its actually pretty cool to be able to print out all the small brittle things that break creates less waste and you dont get scammed buying a part that costs .10c to make for 22.99 because they only sell it in a 4 pack. I would say with 3D printing being a thing makes all manmade objects even more special. ai can now make songs and art but no matter how amazing it gets at it just knowing a human created a painting or song will always have more meaning and value will just keep going up as ai shit improves.
>>540348051lets say you make a plastic object without 3d printing it, it will still bend and break regardless of how it was made retard
>>540348185No shit plastic breaks retard that's why 3D printing all these objects that shouldn't be made out of plastic isn't a great idea

I've done both, and yes 3D printing like AI art is devoid of soul. It's not just the print lines (there's materials you can get to minimize them), they just look low effort no matter what you do. Even casting was considered low effort to sculpting, but that looks glorious in comparison. Non industrial 3D printers are good for making convenience items that don't require strength.
>>540347450shut yer yap chonkThis is standard cope from Chinese manufacturing concerns. If everyone can 3D print their own slop, they won't buy China's slop anymore.I've owned a Chinese branded 3D printer for a year now and haven't bought any slop toys for my kids. When they want a toy, I'll look for something good, pay the creator a bit of money for the rights to the design, then crank out a bunch of different choices, styles, print my kids names into the plastic, etc. It's absolutely based. If you're using it to sell flexi dragons at the market stalls, go die in a fire

>>540349747"PLA biodegrades" is just how 3D printer dorks cope with the fact that they churn out so much micro & macro plastic waste for their stupid little trinkets they make

>>540347450Literally almost everything you own, including the device you used to post this, is mass-produced and thus also avoids the entire elaborate process you described. The only person who personally concentrated effort and attention on those products in any way is the guy who designed them before they went into mass production, much like the guy who designed the 3D schemes used for 3D printing. It's the same thing, just more convenient because you can make what you need at home however and whenever you want.
>>540353518its too bad the system tries to keep the black man down by making 3d printing to hard for people from the hood. they should make 3d printing easy, like watching tv. they just dont want to see the negro get ahead. its racism.

>>540347450You should be building mounds and not thinking in words.
>>540347450Yes for exactly the reason you're dancing around. It's not completely inert, because there is still usually spirit in the design of the object, but this is just one aspect and is abstracted from the material, and what little spirit remains in the design can also be degradatled if the design is used for mass production of the same object, if design is a facsimile of something, or if the design is purely functional, like a specific shim part needed for home improvement, for example.

>>540347450people in ye olden times often did not have a landlord, or mortgage company, or utility bills breathing down their neck every month. so they had lots of time to just make shit and their fathers or uncles or some guy in the village had plenty of time to teach them how to make shit because they also often did not have a landlord, mortgage company, or utility bills breathing down their necks. It's so tiring listening to rightoid drivel because it's always stripped of context and deliberately misses the point.
